Appearance

Bright red hair and iridescent-rainbow irises are key features of Roseline. Not overly tall for a woman but taller than average, she doesn’t actually have a commanding presence like most dreadlords do.

Skills and Abilities

Illusion Magic:

  • Can create large illusions with magic that are seen by all. These illusions always have something off about them. Perhaps they don’t have a shadow or there’s no reflection in mirrors/windows/bodies of water or it seems the time of day doesn’t matter. Although to Roseline’s detriment, more than once she had scared enemies away by creating a fearsome giant or dragon that seemed to be on her side.
  • Has the ability to put people to sleep when they look in her eyes. With this ability, she can enhance the potency of her illusions, often putting those asleep in a happy dream they wouldn’t want to wake up from. It’s been said that those killed by Roseline have died with a smile on their face.
  • Because her magic is strongest when someone is looking into her eyes, she uses a variety of tricks to get people to make eye contact. She knows spells that make mirrors appear out of nowhere but more often than not she often uses marbles. They’re easy to roll around into places and can catch someone’s attention, and by then it’s too late. The shape of a marble easily transforms into her eye when she wills it.
Dreadlord Training:
  • Martial training alongside with various weapons, but Roseline prefers not to get into the nitty-gritty of fights. She will, of course, valuing her life more than she should, but if she can avoid it she will.
  • Able to read and write, knows enough about history, science, math, politics, and even art.
  • Can ride horses and fight on horseback.

Personality

A aloof woman who jokes around too much, seeming not to take anything too seriously. She laughs often and is friendly but it’s little more than a act. For those that know her well understand it’s a persona she presents, for some reason she has a lot of anxiety of showing her true face to others. Others say it’s just because she likes to be how Theodore saw her and she’s acting for selfish reasons.

But who wants to be vulnerable to the world? Roseline has been vulnerable, and all she got in return was being spit on by life itself. Certain life wants to make a fool out of her, she has every intention of enacting revenge on Anirian nobility and the Republic. If there’s any truth to her persona, it’s that she wants the dreadlords to be on top.

Biography & Lore

When Roseline was born, shortly after she was taken by the academy. Her eyes, iridescent like shimmering dragonfly wings, weren’t normal. Taken from her worker family in Vel Luin, Roseline was cared for by a nurse until she was old enough to start training. That nurse was the only family that Roseline had, and she excelled as much as she could because of the nurse.

She graduated at seventeen, and began working for House Urahil shortly after. Despite being only a third-level graduate, Roseline had a flawless record. Her magic wasn’t just anything deadly, at least outright. But she worked through those problems with ease, showing her resourcefulness in many situations. She was designated, because of her magic, to watch over Felix Urahil, the future of the Urahil House.

Roseline became pregnant at the early age of twenty-two. It was clear who the father was, especially when House Urahil said they no longer needed her to work for their house. It started slowly, taking her away from her duty of protecting Felix to being on petty missions, and once she started showing she was let go entirely. The Urahils paid for her silence on the matter, and she was given the time she needed to give birth.

Some where along the way of being a mother and getting back into finding work, she met Theodore. If soulmates were real, then Roseline and Theo would claim to be the other half of their soul. It seemed he didn’t even mind playing father, treating her son Marco as if it were his own. Plenty of gossip about them passed, mostly due to Roseline’s past than Theo’s but they were happy in each other’s company.

When the revolution happened, Roseline sent her son with the nurse that had been a mother to her, hoping for his safety at the academy while her and Theo fought for the side they believed in: which was the side that called the revolution a rebellion. Theo was captured, separated from Roseline. She found out later that it was Zana the Butcher of Vel Anir who murdered him.

She went to get her son, but it seemed the nurse, due to association to her, was dead. So where was Marco? All Roseline knows is that he was taken. Whether he is still alive or dead is a question she is unable to answer and may forever be unable to answer.
