Appearance
Rook is a tall, broad built young man. Clearly leads an active life style with how fit he is, but the lack of more muscle mass tells of a life going hungry far more nights than not. His hair shifts between auburn and dark brown depending on how much sun he has been getting lately. The more sun the fierier his hair becomes. Tends to keep his hair cut fairly short more for practicality than preference and has the scruffy start of an actual beard on his face. A pair of pale gray eyes that almost seem to look past your exterior and into your very core. Plenty of scars and small burns are scattered across his body from a life fighting for every scrap he could get.
Rook's scars are unusual in that a majority of them are clearly from being bitten. In particular a more knowledgeable sort might be able to identify that these bites are all coming from the same two sources: a drow and a goblin.
Rook is never seen without something covering his hands and feet. Gloves, socks, wraps. Anything and everything that can be used will be used to cover his hands and feet.

Skills and Abilities
Handyman: Rook has had a lot of jobs. An unusual amount of them. No matter what sort of steady work he found for himself never seemed to last for more than a few months before something would bring it to a premature end. Because of this he has learned the basics for most trades. Smithing, tailoring, carpentry, fishing, hunting, tanning, and more he has done. This has left him as a bit of a handyman with a breath of skills even if nowhere near mastering any one of them yet.
Brawler: Rook has been in more than a few scraps. A bit of a temper and being too quick to throw hands has gotten him in more fights than is good for him. While most fights have ended in him turned into a bruised mess, he has learned how to throw a punch. More importantly he knows how to take a hit and keep going. He might not be very fancy in a fight the way a trained swordsman is but he knows how to break a nose, throw things, and roll back to his feet quick when knocked down.
Spiritual: Rook is a very spiritual person. Not in the religious sense but rather in that he literally has dealings with spirits often. He can see, hear, and even touch some spirits of both the dead and nature. There is no turning this ability off for him no matter how he might want to. And he very much does want to. But it also can prove useful as he is privy to a plane of existence most aren't even aware is real.
Psychometry: Rook has another strange quirk about him. He has psychometry which means when he touches things he can experience strong memories and emotions related to them. A useful skill for gathering information and learning things. Unfortunately for him however much like his spiritual powers he is unable to turn this ability off. So long as his bare hands makes contact with something then it will activate. Only his own belongings do not trigger his psychometry.

Personality
Rook is a passionate kind of guy. Empathic and sympathetic towards others that treat him and his well. Quick to anger and start a fight towards those who don't. Tends to be in motion unable to sit still. Constantly watching what is going on around him, but doesn't always notice everything as if he was looking at something different than others.
