The young lord of Fogbrooke Village who knows the weight of the entire village lies on his shoulders, and will do anything to live up to their expectations.

Appearance

Robaire is a haughty, arrogant looking young man with sharp eyes and features, and a perpetual resting noble face. His hair is dirty blonde, chin length and wavy almost coming into curls near the ends. His head is held high, and his mannerisms suggest a man who has spent a considerable amount of time commanding others. Superficially he appears the common arrogant nobles son, a rich boy with a golden spoon danglingly from his arrogant up turned nose.

A closer look shows hints that he is far more then meets the eye. The backsword which rests on his left hip while finely made lacks decoration, and it's grip shows the tell tale signs of considerable wear. The bags under his eyes suggest sleepless nights. The oversized coat which dangles from his shoulders is not merely a fanciful dress, but the coat worn by his deceased father.

It is these totality of parts and many others which can give the discerning eye a clearer picture of the man Robaire is.

Personality

While Robaire's physical appearance suggests arrogance, his actual mannerisms show a different story. He is undeniably strong willed and confident, but he is also approachable and attentive to the problems of his people. While he lacks the gregarious charm of his father, or the warm leadership of his mother Robaire is not the haughty noble he appears. Hardworking to a fault he takes up the problems of others and does everything he can to solve them, often causing sleepless nights. His true fault is in his quiet, stiff nature - he does not have a strong force of personality, being more analytical and introspective then is common of a leader.

Where he truly separates himself from his parentage is in his physical ability - Robaire is a talented swordsman, and before his mother's death lead the small force of five men-at-arms his family contracted with great effect. Under his leadership the small band of warriors became incredibly cohesive, allowing them to venture out into The Spine on expeditions which Fogbrooke had never done before. He has a keen mind for military matters and were it not for his place of birth it is likely he would have been an officer in an infantry company.

This skill as a warrior and leader of men is slowly being adapted to life as a Lord of a Frontier Town, but Robaire is still a combatant at heart and will take up the blade whenever needed.

Skills and Abilities

Leader - Robaire has some experience leading men in conflict, and watched his mother his entire life lead a village into prosperity. While he is somewhat inexperienced, he has the tools to be a competent leader. While he is unlikely to rally strangers to his cause due to his somewhat stiff, formal nature those who trust him find a man worth believing in.

Backsword - Robaire is very skilled with the basket hilted backsword, able to best any man in the village with his skill. While he is no swordmaster, he has bested a few orcs in combat and knows the feeling of taking a life, making him a far more dangerous and committed foe then most who hold a blade.

Educated - The young Lord of Fogbrooke Village was taught all the skills required of a Lord from a young age. He can read, write, do complex math and read maps and understand charts. In a Frontier Village these are not common skills, and while Robaire does not possesses the keen intellect of his mother he is more then capable.

Biography & Lore

Born the son of Alous and Emilia Fogbrooke Robaire only knew the frontier town which bares his name from the moment he was born. The son of a disgraced lesser Dalriada Kingdom Baronet and his commoner wife, Robaire remembers very little of his father, only that he was a bright and shining man who died when Robaire was only eight years old. After the death of his father Robaire and his mother were swept up by the village, for Robaire this meant a revolving door of care takers and nannies whom took care of him whenever his mother had work to do for the village, which was often.

One of only a few children his age Robaire had few friends as a child, resulting in his somewhat stiff and formal personality. The love of the village did however have a very strong impact on Robaire, making him very protective of the people of the village - a fact further pushed by his mother who told him how important it was he become a fine leader and care for those around him.

This obligation permeated his entire life, causing him to pursue his education with a fervor few children show for academics. His natural tendency did show in his love of military history, swords and the tales of knights. When he wasn't studying or wracking his mind about his role as a leader in the future Robaire was practicing his sword skills or learning the best tactics for a small force to beat a larger one.

It is this interest which made him suggest to his mother the forming a Fogbrooke Militia, with him as it's lead as a teenager. Rounding up few able bodied second sons and daughters of the local village, Robaire formed the unit of those whose lives would not cripple the farm or forestry with their loss. He armed them from his own allowance, and trained them as best as a teen without a teacher of his own beyond books could.

By his late teens his force of five, four men and a single woman was the first dedicated fighting force Fogbrooke had since it's foundation. Any need for defense had come down to villagers picking up spears, but now with a dedicated force Robaire set out to prove their worth. Like any village in the frontier of the Spine Orcs had occasionally been a problem, small tribes pushed out of the great wood by more powerful tribes sometimes stealing goats or burning some crops.

Robaire intended to stop any of that, and so led his militia into wood to hunt the orcs. Over the next six years Robaire led dozens of expeditions, never losing a soldier and killing dozens of orcs and lesser threats in that time. Sadly his time playing general came to an abrupt end shortly after his twenty second birthday with the sudden passing of his mother and the thrusting of Fogbrooke Village lordship onto his shoulders.

There was no more time for expeditions into the wood with his soldiers, he had nearly two hundred souls to lead into greater prosperity.
