Rhenn Willowood
Former Guardian of Disease
Among the Guardians of Valenntenia, those chosen few who wield the powerful Runestones forged by the Ancients who created the world long, long ago, some Stones are more coveted by those vying to serve than others. The Stone of Disease is not one of those stones. The stone brings great power, but it also has a history of cursing its holder with perpetual disease and plague.
Rhenn Willowood was one such wielder, having served as Disease's Guardian. Often, Guardians assigned the Disease stone do not last longer than six at most, due to the constant state of illness it provides. Every Disease Guardian in recorded Valenntenian history before Rhenn was forced to retire the stone for their own safety, or perished from the effects of it. After an unprecedented nine years of service, Rhenn voluntarily stepped down from his role and instead took the position of Vanguard Captain.
Appearance
Rhenn is a slim man, often clad in an all-black tunic and trousers with a hood pulled over his head and a mask over the lower half of his face. What little exposed flesh he has, his fingers and the top half of his face, is a ghastly pale, owing to his introverted and isolationist tendencies.
Most notably, the right side of Rhenn's face still shows remnants of the disease that his former stone inflicted upon him. There is scarring where his flesh had once been dead and decaying, and his right eye still glows a strange and unsettling white. Likewise, the hair on his head has never grown back, but he wears a hood too often for this to matter much.

Skills and Abilities
The Disease Stone had once offered Rhenn great power over sickness and health, as well as staunch immunity to even the most deadly of maladies. Now without the stone, Rhenn is susceptible to such things once more, but that doesn't mean he's a pushover. Willowood is a skilled thief and assassin, experienced in remaining undetected under even heavy supervision. His body is extremely limber and flexible, and he can contort himself to degrees most would think impossible.
Remnants of his former power still dwell within Willowood; He can sense sickness with acute accuracy, even if no symptoms are present. In addition, he can often make quick and pinpoint appraisals of someone's health and condition, lending him to be an excellent field medic. In combat, Rhenn prefers knives, daggers, and occasionally a bow to accomplish his task.

Personality
Rhenn is a textbook introvert, keeping to himself and preferring to work alone whenever possible. Such behavior is often exhibited by Guardians, especially those of Disease, who find themselves without many willing to grow close to them whilst under the effects of the stone.
Willowood is harsh but fair, quick to action, and has a tendency to think of himself before others. There was concern from the Somners of Valenntenia when he made himself scarce on several missions as a Guardian, abandoning his post when he spotted something he'd rather be doing, or lost confidence in the task set before him. Ultimately, he remained in service because of his talent and tolerance of the Disease Stone.
In more recent years, Rhenn has taken well to his rank of Captain, earning himself a devoted group of men and women whom he shares a bond of trust with, although those ranked above him are still leery of the former Guardian who so willingly gave up his spot to join the military.
