Appearance

Mordecai is an absolute monster of a man. His height only matched by his mass, he's a formidable figure to say the least. He looks as if he was hewn from solid stone, even in his middle ages he possesses the strength to wrestle bulls to the ground and lift horses over his head.
His face is weathered and wrinkled with deep marks of a long life and not a few scars. His iron grey hair is long and straight and streaked with white, he actually gives of the feeling that he is older than he actually is.

He wears fully heavy plate armor and a helmet with a visor that covers his face. He carries a greatsword sheathed at his back and a heavy cloak around his shoulders.

Skills, Traits & Weaknesses

Warrior King: A man of great strength and skill, he is a formidable warrior and talented in the use of the Greatsword, lance and shield. He's an expert from the saddle of a horse, a knight of immense power.

Work of the Mind: He's not dumb or idle, he is a skilled tactician and strategist as well as an astute scholar. He is intrigued by complex problems and strange mysteries and even arcane disciplines.

Statecraft: He's a cunning negotiator and a prominent politician.
Strength of Anger: His physical strength is practically impossible for a normal human to possess. He can crack stone walls with his fist, he can lift several cows over his head and throw them a hundred yards, his endurance is practically unending... And when his rage consumes him his strength practically doubles.

Personality

He's a man used to authority, giving orders and expecting them to be followed to the letter no matter how trivial. He doesn't get close to anyone, if he had any friends before there are none for him now and he keeps others at a distance emotionally.
Mordecai is a being of anger and wrath born of immense sadness and grief that's been taken and turned useful as fuel for his rage. He makes no attempt to hide this about himself, his temper easily rages out of control and he could care less, he accepts the consequences of his rage on others and is entirely unapologetic.

He is ruthless as a warrior and possibly even tyrannical in his rule of his all but fallen kingdom. However, cruelty doesn't fit as a descriptor for his extremely violent nature, it's brutal and fueled by rage to an animalistic degree, an absolute berserker on the battlefield one could not call this utter loss of all sense 'cruelty'.

Biography

Mordecai Akadia. Hero, general, husband, future father.

He served the empire of Celest, saved it on several occasions from calamity and utter destruction, rose from a farmer to a hero of the land. He and his companions fought for Celest against their enemies, protected the land and its people from monsters and curses, discovered legends and myths to be true, built up the kingdom to even greater heights of prosperity.
Hailed as heroes from one corner to the next, lawman and lawbreaker knew their name and knew of Mordecai Akadia, an honorable warrior and knight who's blade protected the weak and who's strength upheld the fallen.

He married and looked forward to a peaceful life and retirement ahead of him with a child on the way. His wife being one of his companions and a powerful magic user and healer.

As hero of the realm he held some minor duties in the kingdom but enjoyed greater office and privilege's than many others. This bred jealousy amongst a hidden sect of the noble class running the kingdom. Unwilling to let him go and leaving them high and dry they created a plot to keep him entrenched in service to the kingdom and within reach of their influence.
The fruition of their plans went unnoticed for a time while Mordecai was away on final campaign for Celest... But on his return he learned that his wife and unborn child were burned at the stake as a witch by the church, presided over by one of his former companions that had given his services to the church as the new high inquisitor.

They had thought that he would simply give in to grief and devote himself to work for the kingdom to console his grief after he found out there was nothing he could do. They thought that he would never turn his back on the kingdom that he'd devoted so much of his life and loyalty to... Surprisingly even his former 'friend' had misjudged him.
As soon as he learned of her death he went to the office where the high inquisitor worked. Demanded an accounting, demanded to know what had happened, demanded to know who had ordered this... His demands went unheard, but instead of turning away in defeat he drew his sword.
In the long and bitter battle between friends Mordecai's rage only grew, it grew and grew until his strength became like that of a hurricane and he struck down the high inquisitor... Rage was all that he knew in that moment... Even though his friend was already dead he didn't stop smashing the corpse till the body was entirely unrecognizable as even being humanoid.

His rage stilled for the moment and he was aware of the crowd that had gathered, soldiers and civilians alike in shock at the display of brutal violence. But they knew what had happened, why it had happened, and they understood his rage.
The entire town of Ardundale devoted themselves to him, the guards and soldiers repented and threw themselves at his mercy, hoping to atone for either the part they played or for their lack of effort to stop it.
Mordecai then began his own Kingdom in opposition to the empire.
