Maltent the Morbid
Maltent is hermetic wizard who is obsessed with personal freedom and the gaining of power. Born a slave, They have freed themself from servitude with the help of a magical artifact they have since lost. They are on a quest to find what they describes as "True Freedom".
Appearance
Wearing a carved mask and standing at a diminutive stature, Maltent is not exactly going to fit into a crowd, both for their strange attire and a sense of uneasiness around them. Not a dark aura but one that any untrained magic user may find unsettling and dangerous. Like the feeling of being in the presence of a wild animal or bug you do not understand.
Skills and Abilities
Maltent is a skilled user of Pyromancy and Runemagic with an expressed interest in Lithomancy, but due to the difficulty of finding Lithomancy teachings they have had little luck.
Maltent is paranoid and introspective. It is rare that he does not bring with him several preparations.
Maltent is incredibly patient and able to survive in terrible conditions for a long time. Their skills of composure and use of a mask makes their intentions hard to pinpoint without a magical means of reading their soul.
Maltent has also practiced forbidden and dark magic, but they do not wield it out in the open. Maltent does not have any practical combat experience with any weapon.

Personality
Maltent is giddy in the face of the most morbid things. They are a practiced wizard and enjoys speaking of the magical nature of the world. Though their views are not strictly in a clinical way and despite having no obvious faith they still show a great deal of reverance and emotional connection to concepts of gods and religious practice.
