Maja Rell
Though rather diminutive in stature, Maja Rell is one of the infamous and vilified criminals in recent Anirian History.
Born in one of the slum towns outside of Vel Anir Maja was taken from her parents at the young age of Three. Showing a profound ability in magic from an early age, Maja's gifts were apparent almost from the day she was born. Her strength lay in a discipline that became known to the Proctors as 'puppetry'.
Unlike many other Apprentices Maja did not need much training when it came to her magic. Her abilities manifested themselves quickly, and naturally.
Through coaxing and prodding, the darker aspect of the young girls magic came into being rather quickly. Proctors discovered the 'fuel' that powered Maja's abilities, and before long they began to coax her with it's true uses. Animals were brought in for her to experiment with, and before long the Proctors placed before her slaves and captured prisoners to further use for her magics.
By the time she was fifteen Maja had mastered the siphoning of souls for her magics, and she was even capable of storing them upon the pages of a magic tome.
Her time as the Academy was a joyless one, as it is for many other Apprentices. Most stayed away from her after the rumors around her magics, and her skill made her the target of much speculation among the Houses. Luana, Virak, Weiroon, and several others all attempted to steer her path. In doing so each sniped at the other, always leading to a particularly painful event for Maja.
Upon her graduation the young Dreadlord was inducted as a Second Level, causing a minor stir when she swore herself to the Minor House of Rell.
Her service with House Rell did not pass without incident, and over the next decade the young woman quickly made a name for herself. She was present in many battles and incidents, several times being caught up in the middle of one conflict or another. Each time she entered the situation and exited it quickly, bringing a wrath that many would expect from an Archon.
Over time her legend grew, and eventually she was requested as an Escort for a diplomatic mission to Alliria. Veleth Rell, the head of Maja's House, as well as a dozen other nobles from houses both Great and Minor were to hold negotations with two of Alliria's Merchant Councilors.
It was at this summit that Maja 'snapped'.
Though no one is quite sure what happened, during the midst of the summit Maja unleashed her magics in a way that had never been seen before. Eight Nobles were slaughtered, fifteen Dreadlords were torn to shreds, and dozens of soldiers were simply wiped out.
The incident nearly sparked a war between Vel Anir and Alliria, only prevented when then First Level Dreadlord Crane, along with a dozen of his best, brought Maja to Justice.
Quickly tried before a joint Anirian and Allirian court, Maja was found guilty and sentenced to a lifetime imprisonment within the Black Keep. Throughout the proceedings the young Dreadlord did not speak a single word, instead simply staring off into the distance as though the world around her did not exist.
