Liliana Lorel
Liliana Lorel was born seventeen years ago to the Minor House of Lorel.
Cousins to the Great House Virak, Lorel has always been utterly loyal to the Virak Family. Though not unambitious, the men and women of House Lorel know that their fortunes are completely tied to that of their cousins. Over the years they have proven themselves invaluable, and are a treasured Ally to the Virak's.
Much like their cousins, House Lorel is greatly invested in the mining industry. Many of the foundries used to process various ores throughout Anirian territory are operated by House Lorel, a fact which has made them incredibly wealthy.
As the youngest daughter of House Lorel, Liliana was born to be little more than a showpiece to be married off to some rich noble son. Her two elder siblings stood to inherit most of the land and property of their family, with her sister Adriana gaining the secrets of the families magic. This was a fate that she had resigned herself to at a young age, until her own gifts were discovered.
Though not powerful, House Lorel saw great opportunity within the little girls magics.
After near a year of hiding her abilities and cleverly training her within their use, Liliana's father alerted the Proctors of his daughters abilities. She was offered up to the Academy, ostensibly a Noble Daughter sent to fulfill her duties as a Dreadlord.
In reality her goal was much different.
Though only seven years old when she was taken, an instruction was drilled into Liliana's head over and over again; bring those of worth back home.
Unlike many others at the Academy, Liliana is completely aware of who and what she is. As a scion of House Lorel, Liliana carries herself aloft. She stands above the pedigree of many of her peers, and does not shy away from making that fact known.
As much as they might despise her for it.
Since graduation, Liliana has been quietly working with several members of the nobility. Building her own base of power and crafting connections.
Skills and Abilities
Not exactly a combat magic, Liliana is able to use a magic that she herself has dubbed 'weaving'.
Though it's origins are a near complete mystery, Weaving is a technique that allows one to manipulate, change, and influence the emotions of another being. This Discipline is exceedingly rare, and mere knowledge of it is considered forbidden in most places.
Not as direct or obvious as other Disciplines, Weaving functions by the caster essentially knitting and crafting complex latices of their own emotions and commands. Using them to effect their chosen target. This allows the caster to influence and change how their victim feels, and what they do, pushing and prodding them into the direction they want. A skill that is incredibly effective against Empaths in particular.
The ability allows one to manipulate and change a state of mind. Recently, Liliana has discovered that by using more complex weaves of emotions, she is capable of directly controlling and forcing actions. This however has proven to be difficult, and often damaging to the victim. As her technique is refined however, it may become more subtle.
Of course, like every other Discipline Weaving has it's drawbacks. The complex lattice works of energy take their toll, and as one attempts to effect the state of another mind, they will find the effect lashing back. In simpler terms, affecting someone's mind will also effect yours. Each time a user effects the emotion of another, that emotion is burned away within their own mind.
After prolonged use, Weaving will lead a user into becoming little more than an emotional husk. They will be entirely incapable and unable to feel any emotion, leaving them as ready victims for that which brought this Discipline into Arethil.
