Appearance

Tall, Toned and slender. Like many elves they are slimmer than man races and have pale skin. This one has distinctly darker features than many, especially around the eyes and creeping into the palms. There is a dark blue runic glyph over his left chest and another over his right arm. Usually, he is in lighter armor, with many throwing knives around his hip and a multitude of weapons both visible and hidden.

Skills and Abilities

Martial, Magical:

Longsword and Shield - Skilled
Wrist Crossbow - Trained.
Throwing Knives - Trained.
Shadowmancy - Now an Acolyte, Ktaris has learned the very basics of shadowmancy.
Mimicry - There is a strange developing shadow mimicry going on in Engima City, but it's in its infancy.

Craft:

Alchemist: Adept. His trade and his craft, he knows an impressive array of elixirs and potions.

Survival:

Stealth - Skilled. Incredibly good at blending into crowds or moving quietly.
Perception - Skilled. Ktaris is very perceptive of the environment when spotting clues.
Lockpicking - Trained. He can open a lock when required but don’t expect him to crack a safe, yet.
Leadership: Trained. Ktaris has the presence and ability to rally those around him in times of strife.

Weaknesses:
Doesn't make friends easily. Makes enemies easily.
Has an aversion to bright lights, less so to very warm temperatures.
Is paranoid and over-cautious.
Tells so many lies its hard to know what the truth actually is.
Prone to losing himself to shadowlust, a type of frenzy where one seeks union with only the unseen or dark.

Personality

Secretive. Dealing in secrets and half-truths. Giving people just enough of something to hook them, then bending that to his own ends. Ktaris can be charming but often isn’t unless there is something to be gained. Driven by purpose and weakened by acceptance. He isn’t someone you want to trust, other than to do what’s best for himself and achieving his aims. His calling and mission are all he cares about, somewhat sociopathic in his devotion to them both. Ktaris values oaths very highly, and he won’t break one even if it means his life, or give oaths easily either for that matter.

Biography & Lore

The Tundra Elves are a reclusive group at the best of times. Keeping themselves well hidden around the southern Eretejva region. They are not an expansionistic group but they have perfected the arts of assassination and subterfuge where required, occasionally selling these services to trusted allies. In part, they have honed these skills to protect themselves and hide their identity, in part to further the goals of their patron god Eleth the unknowable.

They have a strict society that is caste-based, religious, warrior and worker, each of the three groups having their own sub-castes. It was this strict warrior lifestyle, with a heavy emphasis on secrecy that shaped Ktaris’s younger years. Younger in elven years is the first hundred or more, which leaves a distinct and heavy emphasis on what that Tundra Elf becomes. His childhood was rigid, training, scripture and more training. It would be fair to say that he never grew up, he grew old.

Ktaris has been dedicated to the keepers for over one hundred years since. Sent out on many missions in their service. The keepers both guard the identity of the tundra elves and their location, as well as their patron god, who seeks domain over all secrets, mysteries, and shadows. They also seek to expand Eleth’s domain over the various planes of existence, including but not limited to the mortal one. This is simply achieved first through confusion, secrets, and misdirection, following eventually to shadows, and eternal night over a small area. The area can be the size of the book, the size matters not, only what truths are hidden and what mysteries remain unsolved. Hiding the right book at the right time can deny the exposure of a secret just as well as clouding a town in darkness, and it is much easier to do!
