Henry Bauer
Henry Bauer was born to a large peasant family in a small village on the Cortosi Coast. From a young age, many of those around him have always felt an unnatural and inexplicable chill radiate from the young peasant. This always followed Henry and caused many to avoid him through his childhood. At the age of seven, while playing with his four other siblings, his magical potential exploded. Consequently, the oldest of his siblings, his sister, was frozen solid, and his other siblings suffered from the sudden outburst of chilling magic. He was ostracized from the village and even his family for a short time until the Dreadlords were contacted.
The Academy's Proctors were quick to carry the child away, anticipating that Henry would be a very promising apprentice. Upon testing the child, the Proctors discovered that Henry possessed immense yet untamed power. His family gladly took the compensation and the blessing of ridding themselves of such a burden. For ten years, Henry suffered and grew with his fellow apprentices, a group that has dwindled in number over the years.
Following his graduation, Henry took part in numerous missions to aid in Vel Anir's subtle expansion and grow its military might. Shortly before he disappeared, Henry was promoted to the rank of First.
The last known sighting of the Dreadlord was in the Seret Mountains. Officially, to Vel Anir, Henry Bauer is considered dead.
Skills and Abilities
The former First Level Dreadlord boasts incredible power. Like all of his ilk, he is well-versed in warfare and is incredibly skilled with various weapons. In his class at the Academy, Henry was physically the strongest of his fellow cadets and was easily the best in hand-to-hand combat, particularly grappling.
Unlike his Academy days, Henry has masterful control over his powerful ice magic. The former Dreadlord always possessed an abundant and nearly unmatched level of explosive power, his precision, and ability to control the output of his magic had been a glaring weakness of his. The drawbacks of overusing his magic were severe and at the worst of times near-fatal. Frost would build over his skin, and sometimes parts of his body would become encased in ice.
As he tirelessly undertook several successive missions, his skills in combat grew exponentially, as did his precision with his magic. While his power has always remained the same, he gradually became able to fully output his magic with his increased control, and the conditioning from constantly using his magic allowed for more prolonged use without suffering its dangerous drawbacks.
