Gretta Agal
Appearance
Gretta is quite weathered in appearance, her face lined with scars, and one eye completely ruined. She wears a simple leather eye patch to hide such an unsightly note. There was once a woman who would have been noted as comely now stricken with a story upon her freckled face.
Red, curly hair is often kept up and away from her face. Her fingers are often blotched in black ink from her writing. She has an eagerness and thirst upon her face at everything around her.
She wears simple, utilitarian clothing. Nothing spectacular, but nothing too threadbare.

Skills and Abilities
She knows a bit about first aid. Not terribly much, but enough to get by.
She can make a nice campfire!
She's knowledgeable in a lot of things, though those things may not be of much import in the grand scheme.
She seems to know her way around a knife. And hiding. And a bit of slight-of-hand.

Personality
Gretta is a socialite, for that is how she learns of the world. Everyone has a story to tell, and she's the one who wants to hear them all. Once she makes a friend, she is fiercely loyal, and will always come to aid, no questions asked. It does take some time to win over such trust.
Biography & Lore
Gretta was born just minutes after her twin sister Eiry. Unlike her sister, who decided to stay in Vel Anir, Gretta longed for adventure, and took to it once she came of age.
She was always scribbling away on anything she could write since she learned how to write. "Worlds are in my head, and I need to put them to paper before they disappear from the universe!" she would say. Her mother wanted to send her to Elbion in hopes of becoming a scholar. Gretta did not want to apply out of fear of rejection, for she had no magical propensity. With her mother's encouragement, she eventually applied, and was accepted.
It was not at all what she wanted.
Disenchanted with what was the College of Elbion, Gretta tried to remain enrolled, for it was quite the honor for a simpleton such as her to get in, yet it was so boring! She didn't want to spend her days writing about what already exists, and she was quite terrible at her attempts in magic.
And so, in secret, she wrote her first novel. A work of fiction known as "The Ascend" under the pseudonym Jhaunesse. With a bit of finesse with a friend, she managed to become published.
While a success, her work was criticized as being trite, or too fantastical. The novel involved dragon riders, magic as confined, and romance with abandon. There was possibly more of a cult following in Elbion for those with a little less of a practical palette, but she enjoyed it.
Most believe Jhaunesse to be a man, and as she enjoys hearing of people's true feelings on her writing, she'll rarely out herself.
Eventually she wrote a prequel, "Darkness Within," which paints a common magical practice as inherently evil, which caused a stir among readers. Dragon riders were also more common place, and dragons plentiful in the lands, sentient, and could communicate with people. Critics found the work absurd, but her cult following grew, and so did her published works.
This inflated her ego. She was making quite a bit of money, and she was taking her studies and her time at the college for granted. She felt instead of reading about all she needed to know in her books, she would instead drop out of college and venture forth into the world and learn from first-hand experience. Such a leap is one she is often at war with herself as to whether it was the right decision or not.
