Appearance

Gauss is a giant floating head, with several stalks of eyes growing out of it's head.

Skills and Abilities

Gauss is a powerful mage who is a proponent of stochastic magical processes, or 'wild magic' as many layman prefer to call it. As such any combat involving Gauss is typically unpredictable, and the College of Elbion has thus requested that Gauss eschew any heated magical displays unless the college itself is in critical danger.

Personality

Gauss is a devout flippist, and believes that every major decision is best left to chance. It is said that each of his eyes hold a certain magic, and every time Gauss 'rolls the bones' first for how many eyes to use, then which eyes to use. Some say this is a mere personal philosophy, while others claim that Gauss's people simply worship chance. Many have asked why Gauss acts this way, but none have found an answer they find satisfying.

One tendency that students of Gauss's classes have noticed is that Gauss always seems to limit the class size to ten, allowing Gauss to always have an eye dedicated to each individual student.

Biography & Lore

Gauss is a legend inside the College of Elbion. Many new students hear rumors of his name and odd appearance, Gauss typically only takes students after they've become at least a first level Maester. A devout flippist however, Gauss does not teach a typical class schedule from semester to semester, but rather rolls the dice between different classes it is comfortable teaching. No one knows quite how long Gauss has been at the College of Elbion, but most faculty recall hearing rumors about him when they were students themselves. No one is quite sure of his specific title or rank, but most are content to simply let him go about his teaching and research into stochastic magical processes.
