Ezra Archiva
Appearance
Ezra has clad the typical outfit of most mages, with open blue and white robes being worn over a simple white tunic. A thick spellbook hangs tied around his belt, full of elaborate scrawlings of intricate rituals and spell formulas. A variety of pouches in all shapes and sizes adorn his outfit, filled with odd components and arcane ingredients. He is rarely, if ever, seen without his bracers, which glow in a myriad of vibrant colors when he casts magic. He's young, with thick, curly brown locks of hair hanging down from his head.
Skills and Abilities
As a student of the College of Elbion, Ezra is well-versed in magical theory and the application of the arcane. While he is capable of more traditional variants of magic such as spell-slinging, he is far more skilled in the art of summoning.
Whereas many mages concentrate their magic and energy into conjuring the elements, Ezra is adept at taking that magic and using it to summon mystic beasts and creatures. In order to summon a creature, however, a price must be paid. Typically, this is done by sacrificing related ingredients and using nearby elements. For example, to summon a den of flaming snakes, scales must be sacrificed to a fire. The size and number of creatures correlate to the number of components used in the ritual.
In the event that Ezra runs out of components, he possesses a shortsword to wield against opponents. However, he is by no means proficient in it, and will quickly pale in comparison to anybody with some knowledge on how things with sharp edges work.
He also possesses a magical and wildly impractical hammer, one that is incredibly well-crafted and ornate in its design. At impact, it is capable of cracking and shattering anything that comes its way. However, it will also spew flame into his face. It's a win-lose scenario, really.

Personality
Ezra's by all accounts an amiable person, able to get along with his peers and colleagues well. He also possesses a deep interest in the intricacies of magic, which manifests in his frequent experimentation with spells. This willingness to modify and test the arcane beyond the rules dictated by textbooks and lectures has often put him in disagreement with the more cautious and rule-oriented of the College, who view it as carelessness. Regardless of his experimentation with magic, he is ambitious and intelligent.
Biography & Lore
Ezra was born not within the walls of Elbion, but outside them, in the valley and forest that stretched beyond them. His family was farmers and hunters, tending to fields of grain and livestock in the summer months and hunting when winter struck. It was a simple life, one where the weeks felt like days and the days felt like minutes. Simple, and dull.
Every spring, his family would venture away from the motley farm and into the city of Elbion to sell their wares. It was these moments that provided a shock of interest, as the boy marveled at the magic that permeated the air around him. The first time he saw the extent of magic and its reality beyond that of parlor tricks shown by passing travelers sparked a passion that has still never died down to this day. When he returned home, he immediately set out to figure out how to cast magic. And so, he experimented, as days and weeks soon turned to months and years.
One day, he cracked it. It was, in truth, done on instinct. Within the Merchant District, as he was busy selling goods to the passing citizens of Elbion, a figure darted through the crowd, carrying ornate books under their arms. The moments that followed were a blur. A quill turned to smoke, as the smoke soon turned to a flock of birds, each swooping down to claw at the thief, obeying commands that were not spoken but nonetheless spoken.
A mage of the College witnessed this and, impressed by the display, recommended the school. With his aid, Ezra soon left his farm and entered the halls of the College.
