What drives the primordial instincts of the insect? How does the bee get its orders from the queen? How does the ant know where to go and what to do?These questions fascinated the ancient gnomes that predated those who inhabited and abandoned the fortress of Belgrath.
Background
Deep below in what is now the deep warrens of Belgrath, the gnomes worked their ingenuity on both magic and machine in their advanced laboratories.Of course experiments on insects were welcome in a search for a magical pesticide to open the doors to a world of manipulating the mindless for useful endeavors.
The gnomes were successful in creating this magic that could control insects and other pests, and just as foreseen more experiments were performed on the alteration of insects and other projects of the like.
But, predictably, this type of experimentation had catastrophic implications which were invariably unleashed on this ancient civilization, and while not the direct cause, was instrumental in their destruction.

Entomancy is the practice of using magic to control insects and pests for the casters own purposes.With this magical discipline the caster can take control of a swarm of insects, essentially taking the place of the queen for the swarm, and directing them for the casters needs.
Higher forms of this magic were developed to take control of insects in other ways, increasing their growth rate, or even reproduction especially at the egg or chrysalis stages, causing nature to speed up the process or deliver different desired results.
The formation and creation of new insects formed from magic is also possible with this field of magic.
