A Wyld Dragon Tamer from the Great House Laenaeris of Thanasis.
Appearance
Skills and Abilities
- Draconic Knowledge: Members of House Laenaeris are taught breadth and depth of many different dragon species from birth to aid with the eventual task of taming. Diarmuid has string knowledge of each classical dragon of Thanasis, as well as several more obscure creatures.
- Martial Training: Diarmuid is expected to join the Thunder of Thanasis, and has been trained by his house to be ready to serve
- Survivalist: As Wyld Dragons are found, not hatched, Diarmuid has been trained to scout, make shelter, forage, etc in multiple environments
-Linguist: Wyld Dragons are found in many places, so the Diarmuid has been trained in many languages to converse with whoever may be nearby.

Biography & Lore
Diarmuid’s parents weren’t supposed to be married. In fact, his father was betrothed to another woman. Through no shortage of guile and skullduggery Declan Laenaeris married Melia Thesius, to the consternation of the Laenaeris household. Though the Laenaeris house was eventually able to negotiate a dowry there has always been tense relations between the greater Laenaeris leadership and Declan. This has naturally extended to Diarmuid, their first son and fourth in line to lead the Laenaeris House.
Diarmuid thus grew up under harsh treatment from the greater family, but took it upon himself to give them no opportunity to make their treatment justified. He became studious, learning from family archives the talents and secrets his house had gathered for generations.
With little in family to look up to he found a role model in Errune Thesius. One of his first memories was attending the cousin’s wedding, which lead to him following the cousin’s career. A man who didn’t let being in a house without a hatchery keep him from advancing in Thanasis society. While very respectful and kind to the younger twins Kaia Thesius and Raimond Thesius, he did feel some self-failure as both bonded to dragons before he was able to tame. This was compounded by his peers, who often remarked that “the wrong Thesius blood came into the family”.
Aiming to prove the naysayers wrong, Diarmuid made a lofty goal for himself: tame a dragon outside the 12 used by the other great houses. This was ambitious, and something his father supported him in. That was, until he caught an ailment. Declan was bedridden for 6 months before finally passing, to the bitter relief of Diarmuid and Melia. With Declan gone the head of Laenaeris informed Diarmuid that he would have twelve months to tame a dragon, or he and Melia would be cast out from the house.
