As Nineban's shadow loomed over the deep gorge, It's bulk obscured by its rosy walls. It's presence imposing on the lone rider beneath.

Muffled were the beats of horse hooves against the rocky ground. A nearby rapid's rushing water deafened all, seldom giving peace to ears between itself and the life of As Nineban.
The rider made his way through narrow, meandering paths, some closer to the water than he would've considered safe. Careful treading began when the distance between the rapids and safe ground only grew in height until only a steep drop separated the horse between the water.
A misplaced step sent a small burst of rocks sliding down the side, gently splashing and getting lost in the waters beneath. The rider turned to gaze behind his back. Death awaited many, who knew not how to step in As Nineban's shadow.
The path behind was long and far, the point where the stone kissed the ground long unseen, and the shadow seemed only longer.
He set his eyes back on the path that ever grew shorter, and a few paces further ahead, behind an inconspicuous looking stone, the rider clad in dark robes finally dismounted.

To a secret door, he trod.

Knock knock.
Knock.

The landscape is part soil and part stone waste, while the roads are covered in rough sandy soil. Most of the plant life is adapted to semi-arid weather, thus the land is covered in brush, olive and date orchards as well as rows of cypresses that continue far off into the distance.
The landscape is dotted in settlements, smaller fortifications and defensive towers. Not all which are aligned with the Sayyiduna. One of the more prominent villages under its protection is Al Mirabet which breeds black camels.

A large river by the name Sehrud flows through the country, growing larger from it's many stormy tributaries. Sehrud itself is a tributary of the much calmer Cairou, while a smaller river flows on the other side of the mountain, which is one of the many tributaries of the Baal-Asha.
Occasionally it snows during winter in the higher elevations.
The crops that are grown in this region are dates, olives, grapes, pomegranates and millet.

Local dangers that often befall the region around As Nineban include sand wyrms, raiders from other, more established factions and giant eagles.

Description

Architecture

The castle is considered unapproachable from the northern, western and eastern side with only a narrow strip of land snaking towards it. A small but dangerous rapid flows through the castle and outcropping. Its source is tightly secured. The rapid is called Seh, which joins with its twin, Rud in the lowlands, together they form the formidable and dangerous Sehrud river.

The front face of As Nineban greets its visitors with a thick wall that climbs up the slope on the eastern side. The walls are covered with triangular merlons while the overly tall towers feature machicolations. Most of As Nineban is covered in plaster, some of it is in disrepair, but enough of it is still covered to disallow climbers from entering the castle.
There are two large gates, one located lower and another much higher. Part of the walls is slightly sloped while others are completely straight. A small, flat path leads around the castle and ends in a cliff some one third around. Most of the rest of the defences are impenetrable, natural terrain.

Entering the front yard, one is greeted with a large open space with white stone pathing, cypresses and date palms. Small stairs lead to the open, arcaded hallways with muqarnas vaulting. Overall, there is little colour, but the shapes of the internal court are still beautiful to behold. Most important buildings like storage, bedrooms, bathing rooms and stalls are located here.
One medium-sized stairway leads to the second level which is more compact, walled and holds an internal garden and orchard. This section is located higher than the main court, is walled and leads to the castle keep, which is located at the very back of the mountainous mound. Part of the keep also holds the tallest tower which lies higher than the nearby mountain. One can consider it the most beautiful view over the region.
The keep propper is generally off-limits to the Fedai and common soldiers.
