Andros
Once an instrument of war, a life-changing event brought Andros to the steps of a Dornoch monastery. Now an exile, Andros travels the land, helping those in need, all while searching for magical artifacts to bring back to his monastery. His peaceful demeanor hides a body and spirit crafted and cultivated for war.
Appearance
Athletic and tall with spiky blonde hair kept short and blue eyes. He has various scars and wears simple robes made with an eastern flair from Dornoch.
Skills and Abilities
Andros's innate magical ability and the one he honed during his time in the Academy. The berries provide a multitude of benefits upon consumption. The first is that it completely heals any injuries short of amputation, letting the user recover in seconds after a battle. The second is that it replenishes the user's stamina, allowing them to exert themselves further than they would typically be able to. The third is it cleanses all poisons from the user, acting as a cure and providing brief resistance to poisonous effects after consumption. The final benefit allows a user to gain ten days of sustenance from a single berry.
While these berries can be a significant boon to anyone, some drawbacks exist. First, Andros cannot make more than three berries a day. These berries also spoil after an hour of creation, so Andros cannot stockpile them for later use. The third is that a person cannot benefit from their effects more than twice per day. Eating more than two berries per day will result in fatigue and exhaustion. The berries cannot bring people back from the dead, but they can bring people back from the brink of it.

During his decade in isolation in Dornoch, a monastery of warrior monks took Andros in and taught him how to utilize ki. Ki is a subset of general magic tied to one's life force. Andros learned to gather ki, allowing him to access abilities that mere physical training could not hope to attain. Andros's ki is tied directly to how much physical effort he puts his body through, the amount he can gather and use growing as he trains. It is also closely tied to his 'fighting spirit' or willpower though accessing it through this method at will is highly difficult.
He can use ki to enhance his strength, speed, and durability and increase the potency of his attacks. Andros can expel portions of his ki as well to launch energy-based attacks. These basic applications are stretched further in the form of special techniques taught to him during his stay in Dornoch. These techniques are accompanied by a kiai or a chant, declaring the attack, helping manifest the desired technique, and increasing its potency.
While ki grants many gifts and enhancements, it is a finite resource tied directly to one's physical and spiritual conditioning. Prolonged and extensive use of ki can lead to fatigue, exhaustion, and even death. As ki is much closer to physical conditioning than regular magic, sustaining damage leads to a proportionate loss of how much ki he can utilize and must heal his wounds.

Having trained and lived at a monk monastery in Dornoch, Andros has learned the ways of martial arts. He is adept at many close and long-ranged weapons but is an expert in hand-to-hand fighting. Andros is adept at the "Shura's Hand" style, which focuses on inflicting damage on the opponent even when defending against attacks. The style focuses on parries and active blocking, inflicting blunt strain on opponents when their strikes are defended against.
Personality
Andros's personality is like a cool breeze on a summer's day. Kindhearted, caring, tranquil, and respectful to others. He is very informal, with little interaction with nobility except for his time at the academy, and as such, has little knowledge of proper etiquette. He genuinely enjoys meeting new people, experiencing new things, and making the most of each day. Andros is not one to shy away from a challenge, enjoying a chance to push himself and improve his skills.
Biography & Lore
Andros was once a dread lord initiate, one from the lower rung of the academy hierarchy due to his timid nature as a youth and the nature of his innate magical abilities. He was often bullied by initiates and instructors alike, with the only saving grace being how valuable an asset his magic was. When he was only 13, he and the group of initiates were under a proctor's watch who led an excursion near the borders of Dornoch. There, they were assailed by a band of brigands. During the melee, Andros was stabbed in the chest and left for dead, washing away in a river.
He was saved by a monk who nourished him back to health in a monastery dedicated to martial arts. There he learned their ways, integrating into the monastery and becoming a prodigious student before becoming a full-fledged warrior monk before leaving on a mission given to him by his grandmaster. As of now, he travels the world, honing his skills and searching for artifacts for his monastery to preserve and protect.
