Ameris Vonnlyn had an amazing mother who loved him to bits and spoiled him rotten. His father was always cruel to him and he would not understand why until much much later in his life. Luckily for Ameris, his father was a causality in the second Great Reclamation War and it was the only loss that he does not feel in his soul.

When he was around 1,200 years old, he went to fight in the second Great Reclamation War against the Winter Court. Unfortunately, he was on the wrong side of that war and watched many friends die. He somehow survived the carnage and moved back home to help take care of his mother who was not doing well with the deal of her husband. While he was not sad, he understood that his mother needed him.

Ameris spent the next 5,800 years drinking himself into oblivion on a daily basis to not feel or remember the war. He attended the parties of the Summer Court and slept with pretty much every single - and non single - woman who showed interest. That was his life for many years. He was content with just living as long as the drinks were flowing and the women were wanting.

When his mother passed away, he felt a new loss and added it to the pain in his life. The pain he drank to forget about. When he was cleaning out his mothers rooms, he found her extremely old journal and unopened letters that she had written to someone with one addressed to himself. Upon further inspection, he discovered that the man who had raised him and abused him was not his father at all.

His father was none other than the man who had taken so many from him and plunged him into the dark hole that had become his life. His real father was Asemir of the House of the Phoenix. The man who had impregnated his mother and left her, the man who had slaughtered so many of his fellow warriors, the man who had left Ameris to be raised by an abusive asshole. The man who was now the Triumvir of the Dusk Court.

Finding himself in a rage that he had not felt in many years, he went to visit is newly found cousin, Queen Titania, to find out how he could find his real father. She was quite angry to know that Asemir had an heir and exiled him from the Summer Court with the threat of death if he ever stepped foot in the Court again.

Ameris, being stripped of everything he had ever known, dropped the last name that had belonged to his mothers husband and left the Summer Court. He is homeless and pissed off with a fiery mission to find Asemir and make him pay for the suffering that he caused. Ameris believes that every bad thing that has ever happened to him is directly tied to Asemir.
