Maho Sparhawk
Maho,
It has been many months since you wrote me and I am just now able to warrant a reply. The Elves here, have a very interesting training regimen and I was not able to even open letters from my parents, let alone my mentor. My training has been.....going well, my knowledge has doubled--maybe even tripled since we last spoke, or maybe I am just getting arrogant in my training. The letters you wrote me.....were a lot to take in. Talking of sieges, and powerful people...and bodies....I am not sure how I feel about this. I know that all magic should be studied but to actually go through with certain things is....curious to me.
The Elves have not read the letters you wrote me; nor do I want them to. You have been a great mentor and brother to me and I do miss our intellectual ramblings. Sounds like you have sailed quite a ways from here, that's okay as my training will be over in a manner of days now. The Elves are happy with my progress and say I will make a decent mage if given the right....'learnings?' I think is the word that was translated. I still have the stave you helped me craft, I have also learned to fight with it if the fighting gets too close. I hardly use my dagger unless I need to harvest plants to make the Elder his tea. I do hope you will write back, as it has been too long and I did not leave Alliria just to be left here in the Falwood.
Your friend and apprentice,
Myles Widogast
