A town devastated by a storm was no small feat of destruction if Initiate Zephyrine Caddel had to be deployed to see to it's recovery efforts. The Recreator en route, along with another Initiate. Worry gnawed at her. The first time she had rebuilt a whole village, her energy levels were depleted for a week, recovering for almost two weeks after. Granted, she had come a long way since then, worked on her power and strength.

They were to rest at an inn located in Vel Lameus before moving onward to the town called Avenell, where the oat pastures thrived and sourced the great city with grain. It was there that great tragedy struck. Only a few hours from city boasting the finest cuisines, the weather looked bright and clear. No sign of storm or wind had been seen this side, as if it passed around the city altogether.

"If you're peckish, we are staying the night in the best place possible for a feed. Best not too stay out too late. We leave before dawn so you better be dressed and ready in the morning." The Dreadlord looked at Zephyrine, as if she were the one they should worry about. Tawny eyes stared back, impassive, until the Third Rank Dreadlord looked away and dismissed her and the other Initiate.

"Be back here before supper. We eat all together. This is my unit, my rules. We're not going to coddle you if you drink yourselves deep into the piss."

Zephyrine pressed her lips together, stifling the biting words she wanted to voice but that would only invite a conversation. Not one she was willing to have.

And so she arched a brow to the one other Initiate selected for this mission. Whereas Zephyrine was present for her Recreation magic, to help restore the glory to Avenell... she couldn't figure out if her comrade was there for might or support.

"Yes, sir!" Kaye would salute, audibly eager for this somewhat stifling dreadlord to leave her to her own devices like a naive parent. They usually did, after a few days of playing the good girl. That had been the plan so far, but nothing like nightlife to change that calm energy into freeing chaos. The dreadlord gave her a pained look, as though (correctly) realizing this excitable chihuahua had been hiding all along in the soul of an outwardly composed initiate.

Unlike her, however, Initiate Zephyrine seemed to pass off the energy of a dog that REALLY, TRULY, VISIBLY wanted to bite off the head of its owner but was scared of the repercussions. Why all the canine analogies? Well, dogs were cool, and also cute. So there. Anyway, that was pretty interesting to Kaye. She'd always been a bit disrespectful, but had never felt that way, so seeing someone else maybe going through that process was very informative.

At the raised eyebrow, Kaye would grin and wave back, coming a bit closer. "Hey, Pit-" Nope, talking to an actual human was not the same thing as thinking. Besides, she'd met some rather cute Pitbulls before, so it was unfair to contend that they were all brutes. "I mean, Zephyrine. It's pretty obvious that he wants us out of his hair, so would you care to get a drink together?" If not that was fine, she had ways of making her own entertainment, but friends were an important thing to have in a place where everyone was focused on being someone better than everyone else. Honestly, it was kind of annoying.

Zephyrine did not change her impassive demeanour, nor did she answer right away.

Hm. So this Initiate was here to slow her down? Perhaps to fill the field a little.
"I don't drink." Was the simple explanation she gave before moving to walk out the door. It was past noon, and the winter sun had come out to pour some warmth onto the city. It was busy, but that did not mean she was keen to get lost in the crowd. No, Zephyrine enjoyed quieter establishments.

Turning to look over her shoulder, she saw Kaye follow. Setting her jaw, Zeph did not bother telling her that like the First Rank Dreadlord, she too wanted company out of her hair. It had always been that way for her before the Proctors started to move her into physical classes, lumping her in with those that could not handle their magic or bring themself to listen to orders.

Zephyrine had no time for anyone that would slow her down. She was to be the greatest. The strongest. The old ways still true in the wiring of her brain.
