Christmas time is here

Happiness and cheer

Fun for all that children call

Their favorite time of year

Snowflakes in the air

Carols everywhere

Olden times and ancient rhymes

Of love and dreams to share

Sleigh bells in the air

Beauty everywhere

Yuletide by the fireside

And joyful memories there

Christmas time is here

families drawing near

Oh, that we could always see

Such spirit through the year

sleigh bells in the air

beauty everywhere

yuletide by the fireside

and joyful memories there

Christmas time is here families drawing near

oh that we could always see

such spirit in the year

Willis forgot it was almost Christmas.

The children near the College gates were singing about "Christmas Time" as the young man headed to the College of Elbion having grabbed some Egg Nog from the marketplace. The Elf whom Willis bought the Egg Nog from smiled at him. "So who are you going to share the Egg Nog with?" She asked. It's nearly Christmas."

Willis shrugged. "I don't know," he replied. "I'm not a festive person, I'm just buying this for a friend she likes Egg Nog."

The Elf giggled. "A friend?" she asked. "Or a "friend?" "

Willis felt his ears redden as he slapped the coins on the table "A friend," he answered. "I'm working on the other part." Phillipa Ebonheart wasn't kidding. Winning her heart was a challenge and something that Willis was struggling with for a while. He and Phillipa were just friends even after the crazy adventure they had in the Woodlands. Of course Willis shot himself in the foot by giving into lusts and by lusts he meant people like Claire who always seems to have Willis wrapped around her finger. Perhaps Phillipa wasn't interested in a relationship of any kind but she's a fucking tease whenever Willis flirts with her.

"Have you've bought her a gift?" The Elf while Willis turned around to exit the store. "I'm sure she'll appreciate it."

"I don't what I give her that'll make her happy," Willis said. "She's kinda likes to have herself closed off."

The Elf stroked her chin before telling him to wait while headed to the back Willis raised an eyebrow in response. A few seconds later, the Elf arrived with black clothing in which she quickly placed in green wrapping paper. "These pieces of clothing has been made by a witch in Alliria there's only one of its kind but customers don't want wear because...…"

"It's all black," Willis smiled picking up the present. "My friend is never seen not wearing any other color then black. For her it makes her uncomfortable but for everyone else it's not a good color I presume."

The Elf rolled her eyes. "It's actually because they can't fit in the clothing really well. It makes feel insecure."

Willis raised his eyebrows in shock. "Oh," he said laughing nervously.

"I'll let you have it for free," the Elf said. "Christmas is approaching and I really want to get rid of it. Maybe you're right and she'll like it."

Wilis smirked. "She'll love It thanks," he said and left the store the last thing he heard was the Elf wishing him a Merry Christmas.

The young man approached the College gates and tossed two gold coins to the singing children. "Hello there," Willis said as the guard sneered at him. "The College may look at you as a useful tool," he said. "But I still have my eye on you."

"Well Merry Christmas to you too," Willis laughed as he entered the College district.

Phillipa was quietly sitting in the library, enjoying an old favorite about bending the elemental magic to uses typically associated with higher ranking mages. It wasn't complicated for her anymore, but the book was still something that she enjoyed from time to time.

She sighed, not realizing what time it was as she stood and placed the book on the cart for returns just off the front desk. Willis was coming into the campus, and she stood there, with a raised brow looking at him.

"You know, most everyone has taken the week off. I don't think anyone will be waving contracts about this time of year." She teased. "Or are you just more than happy with staring at the decorations the college has?"

She made a small knowing wave to herself, obviously kidding in her mind. "Might I ask what you are doing here?"

"And right on cue," Willis smirked holding the gift he had for Philippa under his arm. "The teasing of Philippa Ebonheart reaches my ears. Oh how I'll ever recover?"

The young man handed Philppa his gift before bowing to her. "Your gift my lady," he said. "From me to you."

The children behind were still singing Christmas songs causing Willis to sigh. "I'm not much of a Christmas person Phil," he said shrugging. "Every Christmas you'll find me in a tavern passed out drunk. Besides there's always work to be found during this time."

Willis never found Christmas to be special he just never had that festive spirit like the other people seemed to have. Maybe it was because of his upbrining but Willis didn't just never had a special connetion to Christmas. "So sweet heart," he said. "I'm probably first and only person to give a present just shows how much I care about you." he said winking.

"You shan't if you keep coming around." She continued with the joking as she stared at the gift a moment, looking up at him with a curious stare before slipping her gloves on and taking the item. Even from those known to her, she never was truly off of her guard with things that were being given to her.

"A...gift?" She asked, with an audible sound of disbelief in her tone. She blinked a few times, listening to him speak. "I wouldn't say the first, though the only with the intent of gaining affection most likely." Certainly her mother gave her something every year, but it was typically a functional item rather than something frivolous or a simple token.

She opened the box, unsure of the gesture as she stared at the clothes once visible. "Oh, well, at least they are black..." She commented, trailing off.

"What can I say?" Willis said taking a little bow. "You're compassion and wisdom deserves to be recognized." It felt awkward giving someone a gift even it was a friend. Willis never exchanged Christmas gifts with anyone before. As he mentioned during Christmas he was at the local tavern getting piss drunk. Willis didn't hate Christmas but he just struggled to care for it especially since he was a child the only gift he would receive from his mother was a savage beating.

Willis smiled watching Phillippa open the gift was this part of the Christmas tradition? To open a gift a few days BEFORE Christmas. He stood there swaying back and forth feeling very awkward. This wasn't supposed to happen wasn't it? Maybe Philippa didn't understand Christmas like Willis did. "I mean," a blush form on Willis' cheeks forcing a cough to break the tension between them. "You're welcome."

Shaking his head Willis gulped. "I really hate feeling fucking helpless," he thought adjusting the strap of his little black bag. "Why don't you try it on?" he said. "They say that the wearer shares a special bond with the person she loves."

A huge grin spread across Willis' face. "They are linked through destiny and the wearer feel how their lover feels and can telepathically communicate with them. Also it's very sexy." The young man winked.

Her brain kicked in, realizing that the gift wasn't to the college, but to her when he explained further. Her eyes closed and she bowed her head a moment, raking herself mentally with derisive thoughts as he spoke.

"Thank you. I must advise private gifts be delivered to my office to avoid confusion. Force of habit thinking it was something for the college taking it here in the hall." She explained, trying to save a little face. It was well made, but she had yet to see it completely yet and was now curious about how much it covered.

She shook her head at the mention of the clothing being charmed in such a way. Clothing of that variety typically didn't come cheap, nor readily. Either they were specially made, or he was blowing smoke. Either way it was a cute thought.

"Since I already looked I might try it on as a present for you in return."
She chuckled, putting it under her arm and waviing him towards her office. "Let's be away then. I'm not about to change in the halls like some half drunk college initiate."

She lead the way to her office. Removing the gloves and putting them back in her pocket, she idly touched her neck, again wondering how well the clothes would cover or if a long throated shirt was going to be in order. Giving a small sigh at the thought, she glanced at Willis, wondering if he had already spent his time in the tavern or had come here before hand.

"Typically I don't have any plans for this tremendously cheer filled holiday save for catching up on paperwork. I am surprised there isn't some great unknown playing havoc with the large gatherings of people for you to deal with." She chatted, filling the air with banter rather than listening to the quiet buzz of activity around the college.
