The lycan smiles and slices off the demon's arm on the ground as it was getting up, then he heard the crackling.

Shit.

Nate groans as he spins to see the Cacodemon charging up its orb. George and his men were running for cover and Nate did the same, but just as he got behind the wall of a nearby alley the orb struck his shoulder.

And the pain that followed was the worse thing he has ever felt. It's hard to describe pain, but if Nate could he would say it felt like someone was hitting a broken shoulder with a bat, driving nails into it and at the same time having fire ants sting it. Soon it spread throughout his body, and what would be mere second would become minutes for Nate.

As he started to hear his bones crack.

Titus regarded the fiery scene. It would be difficult to save the mill at this point, the best that they could hope for is maybe a water elemental suddenly appearing to deal with the wild flames. They could still save some of it, so that's what they had to content themselves with.
Jane had a plan and it was probably the best for now.
She ran off to the side, drawing the fire of the big demon in an attempt to expose its flank to Titus.

She took off and he waited, which was a bad idea since it gave him a moment to calm down and actually feel the pain he was in. Damn, he was in bad shape, it could be worse but it could definitely be better.
He took cover and watched Jane's progress, the demon was turning to follow her, perfect!
Titus broke from cover and half ran and half limped towards the burning lumber mill and the giant imp.

Titus hid behind a pile of untouched logs and prepared to attack, no room for half measures, he didn't want to break another sword. He began focusing his spirit once more into his blade, once again it began to glow with white light.
He opened his eyes and jumped out from behind the logs, charging the laughing demon from behind.
With another shout he focused his spirit into that strike and the blade cut deep into the giant imp's calf, nearly severing the entire leg!
"Miss Jane, attack now!"
He pulled out the sword and prepared for another strike, but the demon howled and turned on him, smacking him with a clawed hand across his tender flesh with force that sent him flying again, the pain of the attack and the bad landing on the logs was incredible, he couldn't hold back shouting out in his agony, rolling the ground as blinding white flashes of pain shot through his mind and body.

The heat of the inferno engulfing the Lumbermill pressed against her right side. The harsh firelight casting wicked shadows across the ground, erratic and chaotic in their writhing. The big red bastard had done a hell of a job here. Dark One Therg would have loved it. And while Jane was all for the plundering of spoils and kidnapping of people for sacrifices during her time with the Sisters, burning and wanton vandalization she didn't really care much for--nor did most of the Sisters, save the ones who fancied Therg, fittingly enough.

The Infernal Imp cackled and started frolicking (there really was no better word for it) toward her. Probably figured that since its fireballs weren't having much effect, it might try to swat at her with its huge hands.

Then came Blue Eyes Titus. Leaping out from his spot and catching the Infernal Imp none the wiser. Heh, hampering that mobility with a deep cut to the leg. Worked well against the Bull-head, so why not keep hammering in that nail the same way.

Miss Jane, attack now!

She didn't get there fast enough to prevent the Imp from smacking Titus quite literally off of his feet (maybe a Blessing of Tychan would have suited him; missed opportunities), but she did slam her Holy Shield into the Imp's back. Likely caught a significant portion of its ass in the bash too. But holy energy snapped off of her Shield regardless and shocked the big bastard and it jolted and convulsed violently, momentarily stunned but still standing.

Jane took the opportunity to hack away at it, grinning wildly as she cut and stabbed into the legs, groin, back and stomach of the already injured demon. Tough son of a bitch though. She'd delivered a series of heinous slashes that bloodied her sword and the demon's flesh, yet still it did not die.

The power of her Holy Shield faded, done with its duration, just as the Infernal Imp recovered from the stun. She blocked a vicious swipe with her now mundane heater shield, then took another coming from the opposite side in her right pauldron, hot embers sparking around her. The blunt force of the blow transferred through her armor, summoning an anvil of pain in the bones of her shoulder and making her grit her teeth as she stumbled away and found her footing and turned back to face the Imp.

"Titus!" she called out, keeping her shield up. "How are you doing over there?"

The Infernal Imp, gravely injured though it was, started conjuring some kind of spell between its hands. Something fiery and awful, no doubt.

George pulled an imp off of one of his fellows and threw it to the ground and stepped on it and then plunged his sword down into its face. An explosion of ash followed. Others had gotten to cover around the square, but still they had to contend with the small imps and the Feral Imps alike.

But when George looked back, he saw that Cacodemon didn't seem interested in them.

It was floating toward Nate, the sneering, angry grin the sole expression it was capable of. Those huge teeth inside of that massive, open mouth. Surely planning to eat the Demon Hunter in part or in whole.

"Nate!" George yelled.

He wouldn't make it in time.

Her voice cut through the pain fog in his mind, he groaned and rolled over to his back. It was a miracle nothing was broken, but he wished something was to give him an excuse to just lay there and be an invalid for a little longer, but the demon wasn't dead yet, which meant they would only have moments before they died first. He could rest when he's dead, that might not be much longer so he'd better hop to it!

He moved to his hands and knees, he gave a laughing cough and spat blood in response to her question.
"I'm absolutely great!... for the shape I'm in... If I were any better I'd be twins just to be beside myself!" He chuckled painfully as he pushed himself to his knees. He no longer had a shirt, so purple and black bruises, splinters, and crisscrossed cuts were plainly visible on his back and ribs from the abrasive bark and branches of the logs.
He picked up his sword and got to his feet once more, though staying upright seemed to require a huge amount of effort.

His vision focused and he could see the paladin wasn't in such hot shape either. She had taken a pretty bad hit herself but was still in good fighting shape, she still had her holy sword but her shield went out, that wouldn't help her now.

The demon was preparing some magic, that meant they had to do something dramatic and fast before the spell completes.
"Jane, I have an idea with a fifty fifty chance of working. Do have anything with better odds? If not we need to disrupt that spell and get his attention on me."
He looked around for any other ideas but nothing caught his attention.
"I don't know about you but I have places to be and things to do after this, do you have anything that can keep us from dying in the next thirty seconds?"
