Maester Horvath of the Third Order, had come with a small group of students through the Falwood Portal Stone on what was politely called “Field Research “. In reality he had come with a list of herbs, mushrooms, flowers, insects , and other wildlife to collect from the Falwood and bring back to the college to fuel his “next breakthrough.”
“Ayyko, will you get a specimen jar and head over to that stump? Tivian has found a colony of Selvian millipedes. If you can capture . . . 12 or so that should take care of us.” The Maester commanded.
Aiko let out a small shrug in response, but headed over. She had thought initially that her selection was due to her high marks in her initial potion making class, but all such illusion was gone on what was now day four of their expedition. Though it might not have said so on paper, she was selected due to the slant of her ears. Collecting the jar she went over to the stump and began casting spells to try and encourage the insects to move into her jar without actually touching the slimy creatures.
"To good to use your hands eh?" An unfamiliar voice rang. Aiko's eyes went up and spotted Anirian steel. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized the seal of Vel Anir on a guardsman's shield. Horvath, as a matter of courtesy, had sent letters to both Fal'Addas and Vel Anir letting the governments know they would be conducting the expedition near the Portal Stone. Neither had returned a formal response.
Until now, with a mix of guardsman and Dreadlords, or perhaps Dreadlord Initiates, here to greet them.
