After all this time they were finally onto him. He had laid low and hoped they would eventually forget about him, but the people from the Dreadlord Academy were relentless.
He had gotten news that someone had recognized him hiding in the slums through the small network of friends he had created among the urchins living on the streets, so he had a bit of a warning before they finally came for him, but now the Dreadlords were hot on his trail. He had an escape plan, but so far it didn't include a way to get out of the city.

For now he simply ran through the streets and alleys of the slums, doing everything in his power to avoid being caught, but at every turn he could hear the sounds of hot pursuit. He had to get ahead of them and find a place to hide, but he doubted that would work for long since they might be using scrying magic to locate him. he wasn't ready to give up but he was starting to think that this might be it.

He ducked down another alley way and vaulted over a fence, the alley was pretty narrow but there was an open window of an abandoned house, so he quickly ducked in there to hide for a moment and catch his breath. In the shadows he waited for the sounds of pursuit...

The man literally got spooked when he heard something made a thump and clambered inside one of the rooms. Instantly he thought about a thief or another homeless man seeking shelter at the place. Nathan pulled out a dagger as he quietly crept down the hallway to investigate the cause.

(Sorry, forgot to watch this! Didn't get notified.)

Gabriel was breathing too hard and listening for sounds outside, so he didn't hear anyone inside as he sat on the floor with his back pressed against the wall. He could hear running nearby and some grunting, perhaps they were navigating the fence now?
They were taking their time though, so this was his chance to see if he could shake off whatever diviner they have tracking him.

He wasn't skilled in magic at all, but he was practically bursting with it, he could tell every time he saw himself in the mirror. If someone were so attuned they could probably track him just from that alone without using a strand of his hair or a personal belonging to track him down.
He had been practicing though, that was a bonus, he was beginning to get a grasp of how his magic worked and was able to do some cool stuff with it.

But first he had to get away from the window.
The room he was in wasn't as abandoned as he thought it was. The dust wasn't as thick and there were some light furnishings covered in sheets, though if someone actually lived in here they were fools to leave the alley window open.
There was a door at the far end of the room, so after he caught his breath a little bit he scrambled up and pushed it open, there was a hallway and he didn't notice there was anybody in it, he heard the sounds of his pursuers landing on the other side of the fence so his just blindly bolted before they could look in the window and see him.

He streaked down the hallway and bumped right into the stranger, he hit the guys leg and was bounced off, landing roughly on his rear.
He looked up in surprise, then fear flashed across his face when he saw the dagger, then relief washed it away as his sight showed the man had nor carried any magic with him, but then the fear returned when he realized that might not mean anything!
He sat on the floor, frozen to the spot staring wide eyed at the man in front of him.
