Even with the finger pressed against her chest Mikaela felt quite relaxed now that Maude had relented and was giving her a chance to set things straight and keep them that way. “Yes, ma’am.” The young woman nodded respectfully, realizing that Maude had just gained even more of her admiration by being as open-minded as Mika hoped their leader to be. In fact, she had gone beyond Mika’s expectations by -- what the raven head saw as -- offering a subtle protection by tying herself to the matter.
Letting out a shaky breath she gently tugged Talus by the arm. “Let’s get our stuff and leave.” They could always take a snack with them, she didn’t mind if he did. There would probably be something to eat at home, something salted or dried, but it had been a very long time since she’s been there and her father might not be in the capital.
“There’s something I would like to do in the morning, I’ll tell you about it on the way home.”
Gathering her things, and being glad that nobody had touched his from what she could see, she stuffed a piece of grilled fish into a chunk of bread to chew on while walking.
“Sorry that happened,” Mike quietly referred to the fight as they gained distance and the voices of feasting Nordenfiir were replaced by the crunching of fresh snow beneath their boots.
