Private Tales A Blade Through the Rain

A private roleplay only for those invited by the first writer
“... demon ogres? What are -- you know what, no, I’m sure I don’t want to run into one regardless,” the Kitsune laughed, taking another long draw from her mug. She didn’t drink to savor the flavor or enjoy the moment -- she drank as an ends to a means. Usually that was to reach that blessed state where she didn’t think anymore…

… but tonight, however, she was rather distracted from that usually single-minded pursuit.

By a red-head with a coy grin on his face, those crimson eyes of his sparkling as he looked at her and that … that blush on his face. That stupid blush, that just begged her to cup his cheeks in her hands and kiss him slow and deep to make it spread even further, that just demanded she lose herself in that shy, sweet, intense, brilliant complexity of him and… She cleared her throat, looking back at her mug, the questioning -- his question -- hovering between them.

There was only really one answer she should be giving. She had rules that she lived by, things that she held as the immutable truths of her life. Keep moving, don’t settle, and don’t get attached.

That moment, earlier, when the dust had been settling and there’d been no sign of him and her chest had frozen inside of her… that was the moment she should have just gone. Right out the door, right onto the road… Right away from the man next to her.

“No,” she responded, her tone suddenly light. Teasing. Toying, almost.

And then she just let that hang in the air, while she finished the rest of her mug, downing the last of the golden brown liquid… before smacking the empty mug down on the counter. She turned towards him, then, her knees up along his own as she leaned forward, her fingers finding his jaw and drawing along it. Her grin widened, even as her forehead lightly came to rest against his own, just … briefly, just enough for her to murmur, her lips so very close to his,

“But why don’t you come with and we’ll see about that heat between us?”

She didn’t wait for an answer, hopping off of the stood she’d been on and sauntering towards the door… though not without a glance over her shoulder with those glittering gold eyes and that playful grin.

“Coming, Red?” she asked, then stepped out the door into the night beyond, towards the inn in question…
