Private Tales What Wolves Hide Their Teeth?

A private roleplay only for those invited by the first writer
She rested her head upon the pillow, taking a moment of quiet.

"Do you really wish to visit the College? Perhaps... we could go visit in the morning before I need to get fitted for the dress." There was much she would like to do here in the city, to follow the footsteps of her own parents who came here to fall in love. They had been stories she read from her mother's journals and recounts of memory from her father. To not have either of them no longer...

She was glad to have Kilien here. Someone that knew emotions and understood when she did not know what they were. He was a grounding figure for her, someone she felt safe enough to be open with.

"You can take my mana again, just to be sure." She murmured.

"I do," he nodded, another yawn breaking through, "but not enough to make that fekkin' climb twice in one day."

Kilien snorted. It wasn't the walk that deterred him, it was simply the idea that making it twice in one day when once for the event was enough could suffice. He liked to call it efficient but other Initiates and indeed Dreadlords would call it lazy.

Both were correct and he'd not deny it.

"I can wait to see it until the event." At her suggestion to siphon her mana again, he gave her arm a squeeze, "If you want. I'd hate to see those manacles ruin your ensemble." Smirk.

A sharp inhale followed, long and deep as his hands clutched more snugly at her arms and tugged on them to pull her right up against him, "We're here for a week, no need to pack everything in one day - or are you hidin' a deep, dark desire to become a Maester, Miss Larrinth?" Ah yes, the purposeful mispronunciation of her name.

"Larrainth." The correction was quick, and Vittoria hid her smile in the crook of his neck. "And my desires of the future do not lie here in Elbion." This he knew.

Her arms squeezed him, hard enough to satisfy the need to do so. It was a way to express how much she liked being here with him, to have the privacy and time to be here with him.

"I just want to make sure you get time to do the things you wished to see while we are here." A celebration it would be for her to see him do something he looked forward to when coming onto this mission.

Vittoria pressed her lips to his shoulder. "I do not wish to take up the entire trip."

Gods she was adorable. Being all thoughtful 'n stuff. An stubborn, but also thoughtful.

"If you think-" Kilien loosed his grip on her arms, alligator-rolling himself until he was facing her, head flopped on her pillow so close their noses were touching, "that I'd let you hog every waking minute of this trip to your whims."

Brows furrowed, he donned a very serious face, "You are absolutely right. I would let you plan out an itinerary for every second if that would make you happy."

He held the stern expression for a beat longer before breaking into a grin and laughing easily. A hand lifted to tug lightly at a section of her hair, "We have to escort the Emissary up there almost every day anyway. I'm gonna see plenty of the college and I guarantee that I'm going to shirk my responsibilities of guarding him at least twice while we're there."

Her face scrunched. Vittoria was not one to shirk duties and blatantly announce it so, but she learned long ago that Kilien was right to do as he pleased. When her face relaxed, she let out a gentle exhale. "Yes, yes. You are right. I daresay I will no doubt help you slip away for some time too... or..."

Vittoria's words turned to whisper. "I imagine we would not be needed at his side the entire time. We could walk around together, if you would like. I hear there are a couple of small libraries that have specialised interests... and that the magical theory is found in a larger one."

She smiled, because she indeed was beginning to plan their time at the College, just as he assumed she would. It felt nice that he would not mind following her around the city to do what she wished, but Vittoria wanted to engage with him on subjects he enjoyed. It was a different sort of satisfaction to watch Kilien speak animatedly about something he knew a lot of.

It wouldn't be the first time he'd managed to harangue her into his mischief.

He'd even gotten her to cut class once or twice. Hard won each time but completely worth the effort in the end. Now if only he could convince her to cut Vel Anir entirely. Surely he could make it worth her time...

Kilien's expression grew pleased. Smug. Amused.

Seems it would take rather less effort to lead her away from their guard duties. And while he wasn't entirely keen on the libraries themselves, or even magic theory, the words coming from her lips made the idea tantalizing enough. Not like he was going to tell her the specific target of his hunt through the college.

Oh I'm just looking for books on breaking curses and the origins of lycanism. No big deal.

He shifted to prop himself up, pushing his lower arm up under the pillow to wrap around and cradle his jaw in his hand. "So you're going to slip away with me to their library," it was like dirty talk coming from her and he loved it.

"Go on..."

Vittoria smiled. The moonslight filtering into the room gave her some light so that he could see his face, see the interest spark in him. To see him react in small doses of delight and surprise were favourite moments she got to cherish about him. It was a welcome change from the constant nerves and fear she could instill in others, but Kilien was not affected by her bluntness or direct way of thinking. She was odd at heart, and Kilien was the one to stoke it out from her rather than turn away and not engage.

He filled something she never knew she needed. Vittoria never thought she could care for someone greater than her closest and longest friend, King.

"Well of course I will, Killy. I want to spend as much time as you will allow me while we are here, where our duties are much more lax than they are back at the Academy." She spoke slowly, softly. "I want to help you find what you are looking for at the College. Whatever you wish to learn or answer, I want to make sure it happens."

She leaned in, preparing to press her lips to his. "You deserve so much, and I want to be the one to ensure you get it."

His smile widened even more, a dolefulness overtaking his expression while she continued to speak such lovely things.

Whatever you wish to learn or answer, I want to make sure it happens.

Felt his heart twinge, his eyes crinkled, his chest felt tight with adoration. How did he get here?

"Mmmm," Kilien closed the space between their lips, pressing a strong kiss against her. Gods she was just wonderful, wasn't she? "I think I promised you some nibbling..." his lips trailed off to the side of hers where he pressed more kisses at her cheek and along her jaw, leaving light nips and bites here and there. His free hand snaked forward around her middle to draw her closer.

Vittoria could not stifle the giggles. They were inevitable whenever he was around. A power he had over her, to bring out a sound of laughter that no one else had successfully earned so often.

She did not fight against him, to free herself from his kisses and nipping. It was selfish perhaps, but she enjoyed these moments. The ones where there was no need for conversation to fill the void, that she could be delighted by him and feel his love without him having to say words.

This was comfort. This was sacred.

In retaliation, Vittoria would angle her head in order to laugh into his ear, or even kiss and lightly nibble at his earlobe. It helped ease the urge to bite into his flesh, which he never refused her to do. She never needed to bite down, only wishing to feel her teeth press into skin before pretending to take a large bite.

Vittoria whispered a giggle into his ear. "You left marks last time. Be sure not to leave any now..." They would not fade in time for the gala, and a blemish like that caught plenty of attention last time by their peers. Vittoria did not wish to hear others whisper about it again. This moment was to be left between herself and Kilien.

"Ohhmm-" he rumbled in reply, burrowing under her jaw to gently kiss and nibble his way along her neck, "I'm sorry..."

He wasn't sorry. Not one bit. Kilien distinctly recalled the level of smugness that welled up within him the moment King noticed the marks before and the shit-eating smirk and wink he gave the taller Initiate as Vittoria tugged him off down the hall by the hand.

But he could behave, especially when asked so nicely. Besides, there was plenty of other skin to leave marks on, including all that would be hidden below her dress's neckline. Which is exactly where his kisses and hands were heading, from above and below.

"I will just leave marks where people cannot see..."

Secrets always intrigued her, especially when Kilien laid out promises like that, it made her heart quicken that slightest bit.

Enough to warm her cheeks, but under the light of the moons and in this dark room, they were not so noticeable.

Her eyes fluttered closed, content with the way he lazily explored with kisses and soft grasps with his hand. In his presence, she was not something fierce. She was peaceful, and content to keep it that way when it was just the two of them.

But that hunger was returning. The hunger for more, and she did not want to speak of it. Did not want him to feel pressured to give in to her wants when he talked her down earlier that evening.

Vittoria pulled away after a moment, her breaths coming out in quick pants. Her hands pushed him back a little, and she let out a small laugh. "Perhaps we stop there, Killy." Her tongue swept along her bottom lip before her teeth pressed into them. "I should... sleep." It would be difficult for her while her thoughts still ran circles, but now they were all about him. What it would be like...

Her brow quirked. "Long day tomorrow. We both should try to sleep." The responsible side tugged at her, trying to push them back onto the path of keeping a schedule.

It would only take a pinky for her to stop him. Not even, he thought.

Just a word. A wrong look. A tensing of her spine. Quickening of her heart.

She pulled away and his grip loosened immediately. Never would he ever want her to have any negative association with his touch or presence. Not ever. That didn't mean he wouldn't regret the absence of her warmth or taste on his lips... but she was right. He was walking a narrow line, for her and for him both.

A slow sigh filtered air in and out of his lungs, bringing her scent flooding in. Kilien nodded, finally dragging his eyes up to look at her own, "You're right. Of course," and he leaned forward to plant one last kiss on her cheek, "do you mind if I go back downstairs for some water? I won't be gone long, promise."

He needed some time to unwind himself or there'd be no sleep tonight.

The idea of being apart from him felt wrong, but Vittoria knew her own judgement would lapse if he lingered any longer after that. She would instigate, feed his affections in hopes he would indulge her own...

"Go. Take the water pitcher too. I would like a glass once I wake in the morning." She stole another kiss from him, a small and cheerful smile on her lips. Her cheeks twitched, still not yet used to holding the position of a smile for long even though Kilien had spent the better part of a year with her.

She wore one of his shirts, thrown over her own sleep attire. It was larger on her, and smelled of him. While he left the room, she would inhale deeply, knowing he would return soon.

Morning came, and as the world was approaching closer to winter, the sun had not come up as of yet. She laid still, listening to the quiet for any movement and talk to help her place the hour. It was early, but not by much. She could hear patrons in the inn quietly making their way downstairs for a feed. Outside, on the street, the gentle sounds of carts and horse drawn carriages and wagons filled the street.

Her hand had been cradling beneath Kilien's head, and thoughts slowly returned to her that she had woken some time ago to scratch the nape of his neck before sleep took her again. Her nails scratched again softly, fingers kneading into his head gently to see if he would stir.

Soon was a very figurative word. Kilien had dressed himself loosely--pants, tunic, boots left untied--to make his way back downstairs with water jug in hand as promised. But he did not stop at the inn's tavern area. Instead he stole outside into the night air for a walk that would take him down the sloping streets of Elbion in a moonfever.

He'd follow the sound of late-night song to another tavern near the docks where he'd find some solace to the tune of Ispir Sione's voice. Though he would have liked the Bard to sing him to sleep and while away the twilight hours of a nearly full moon there, lulled into peace, he could not. Words exchanged brought about a unwitting truths and Kilien left discontented.

Couldn't be sure exactly when he'd returned. Before the sunrise, for certain, but it was not in a timeframe that would have fit the definition of soon. Vittoria had been sound asleep by then.

Now deeply committed to his own sleep, sprawl on his belly with his bare, scar and tattoo riddled back exposed to the world, Kilien did stir at her touch. A murmur of spoken Rovani gibberish as dreams clung to the back of his eyes. A groan followed. The same kind a drowsy dog might give when roused by a gentle scratching of its ears.

It was rare for her to see him in this light. At this time of sleep, for he usually slipped out minutes before curfew back at the Academy to return to his own bed. Only once did he intentionally dismiss the call of curfew and stayed in her bed the night, but Vittoria had been up and ready for class before he even woke that morning.

Today, she had time.

Her hand moved downwards in a gentle brush. Her fingers caught in his hair, carefully and gently leaving the strands to caress the back of his neck and trail down his spine. She pulled herself closer, rolling half on him and lifting a leg to rest upon him.

"Would you like to sleep some more?" She whispered, as if she would wake him up rather than watch him sleep some more so that she could cuddle up to him for some momentary peace.

He was awake, but only just barely enough to comprehend her words and make words in return to answer. The encroaching warmth of her as she snuggled over him and the sensation of her fingers along his back were enough to wake any man from a dead slumber.

Another humming resounded in response, reverberating through his chest.

"Do we...have to be somewhere?" He could be up and dressed and moving, but he'd do it sleep deprived and grumpy if she said so.

"Not for a few hours. We are only expected at the College mid afternoon, but I have to return to the fitting for my gala dress." She smiled and pressed a series of kisses against a tattooed portion of his back. "Which the appointment is at midday."

Her arm flopped over him now, ensuring he had not enough room to leave her but enough to roll around should he wish to.

"That means, my love, that we can lazily lay in this bed until we must get up and get ourselves ready to leave." A kiss inbetween each word she spoke, and a light bite on his shoulder once she had finished.
