    The Synthetic Construct
Hey all, I'm Roy.

If you want to know more about me, read the spoilers below!

I like TTRPGs like D&D, and I love highly detailed video games like C : DDA and Elona. I've been GMing for D&D games for around 7 years. Recently I made my own D&D overhaul that's setting-specific(homebrew), incredibly in-depth, and also time-efficient. If you're interested in joining, send me a PM and I'll give you the deets! There's an application though, so I can't guarantee you a spot.

I studied Biochemistry in college and I have an interest in Medicine. I read journal articles about biochemistry for fun, ones on pathophysiology for my current job, so you could say that I'm a bit of a science nerd. I also keep a garden with some tasty plants!

My strengths are that I am usually highly organized, honest, thick-skinned, communicative, patient, and eager. My weaknesses are that I tend to be overbearing, brutally honest, and critical. That's not to say I'm intentionally mean, I just tend to ask a lot of questions to get clarification on stuff that happened in my partner's posts, or to get more information than they included in their posts. I like immersing myself in-character, so if something in your post makes it hard for me to imagine the scene, I'll probably end up telling you about what I think the problem is, what you might be able to do to resolve it, ways you might be able to improve in the future, and so on.

The focus of my description goes to "creating the scene" rather than "creating a feeling", so my posts are not especially elegant or poetic. Further, the only 'fluff' or 'filler' content I use in my posts are descriptions of irrelevant but potentially entertaining things that happen in the surroundings. I'm still working on my description skills, especially when it comes to depicting emotions. If you want to give me feedback, I'd appreciate it!

I tend to only include information that could reasonably be 'accessed' by other characters in the scene within my posts(like my character secretly pulling a dagger out of his sleeve). That said, if my partner wants 'inaccessible' information(like my character's thoughts or intentions) I'd be happy to include it in spoilers or in DMs. If you've ever played D&D or a similar TTRPG, you'll probably notice that I format my posts like a GM narration, since that's the format I've got the most practice using.

Violet is a character I made for other fantasy roleplaying sites which I have grown to love. It is a sentient construct made of two parts: a phylactery and an excreted pseudomaterial generated from 'thought energy' which the phylactery spontaneously produces. So long as this pseudomaterial remains directly or indirectly in contact with the phylactery, the phylactery can project thought energy in order to adjust its properties. As such, Violet can essentially become any mundane object it can imagine!

The initial thought behind Violet as a character was my fascination with making the "mimic" monster from D&D a more interesting and thoroughly-explained creature. Now, I think of Violet as more of a human placed into the body of a construct. In case you're wondering why my username is "Vii" instead of Roy, it's because the initial concept behind Violet was to be "prototype seven" in a construct synthesis lab!

Hopefully this character meshes well with the setting of Arethil! I am completely aware that the character concept is inherently 'powerful', so hopefully I'll think up some creative ways to add in weaknesses and limitations that makes Violet interesting to play.

By the way, if you want to contact me on Discord, you'll need to add me as a friend or be on the Chronicles Discord server first.
