At first glance, Larewen appears as a proper lady--contrary to her living situation, those of which are nonexistent. Upon approach, one might notice the pale, dead flesh of the woman. Getting too close, one might find an oppressive aura that is rolling from her body. She often lingers in bars, pubs, and taverns--they are good places to find victims to feed the deepening void inside her.

Appearance

Larewen stands at 5'4. She often wears a green and black bustle gown with a black, veiled fedora on her head. Her hair is wavy and dark like coffee grounds. Many times, she's spotted pulling clove cigarettes from a silver case that she often carries inside the dark cloak that she typically wears. Thigh high, black, leather boots stuck to her skin like it was another layer of it. Black gloves cover her hands, hiding the cursed flesh beneath the left one. From her appearance, she possesses far too much money to be without a home.

Skills and Abilities

Larewen has mastered necromancy through self-teaching and training at a Necromancer's Guild. For some time, she was in charge of the guild as its leader. Her skills in dark magic include:

  • Raise the Dead: Larewen is able to summon the dead. What she raises ranges from skeletons to blood golems to stitched horrors. If it can be imagined, Larewen can raise it--with help from her House--what's left of it, anyway.
  • Soul Binding: Larewen is able to animate the recently deceased by stealing their soul and rebinding it to their body. This ability also allows her to imbue items with, but for such a ritual to be cast, one must have four others to complete. It's a complicated magic drain and Larewen, though powerful, isn't capable of doing it herself.
  • Death's Grasp: This spell summons skeletal hands that reach from the ground to snare and hold its target.
  • Pestilence: A miasma cloud falls in the area it is cast toward. This is another skill meant to hinder movement, only it siphons health from its victims, and heals the user.
Other skills will be added at a later time.

Personality

Larewen is a cold, heartless creature and definitely chaotic evil. She is driven by ambition, always hungry for more power than she has. She's not trustworthy to those who might try and call her friend, and this was likely because she will use whatever information she garners to get what she wants. Larewen is selfish; and for this reason, she never keeps lovers long. Lacking friendliness, she's a rather difficult woman to approach.

Biography & Lore

When one lives over a thousand years, they end up with a lot of stories waiting to be told. Larewen is a twisted character, but one will find that Larewen was not always the bad person she's become.

  • Larewen was born to a noble family and her parents are Lady Iseng and Lord Baelian Dragana. Her relationship with them is strained, and they've not spoken since Larewen's exile. Her crime? Breaking into a library to steal a large, restricted tome from the city's library that was under her mother's watch. Not only did it hurt their reputation, but the two almost wished they'd never had a child. They sent her away, penniless, and stripped her of her title. She did not fight; rather, she moved on with her life and continued to travel from place to place until she found somewhere to stay.
  • She had a sort-of family after that, but was disowned by them as well. There was nothing wrong with the young elven sorceress, at least according to her. But deeper down it was almost palpable--something was, in fact, wrong with her. It would only get worse.
  • The elf met a human vampire and fell in love with him. Eventually they were wed and on the night of their ceremony, he sired her. The marriage was extremely rocky, with both of them having disappeared on each other multiple times. Eventually it ended, but that was a result of events that took place later.
  • While helping her aunt, one of the few family members that still spoke to her, she was tasked with watching the woman's child. But instead, she accidentally killed the four-year-old girl while trying to teach her. The ghost still haunts the vampire, always seeming to be in her perepheral.
  • Her husband, who was cursed, had two children, one that liked her and one that loathed her. While attempting to keep the boy, who was also cursed (though differently from his father), from fleeing, was a mistake. He turned on her, summoning something eldritch in self-defense that had a lupine appearance, its body wolfish and yet twisted in wrappings of the abyss. The creature bit her, turning her blood black and inflicting a curse of insanity onto Larewen. The curse is bound by her blood, and is often passed off to someone she sires. Her line is one of darkness. Not long after, Larewen and her husband split ways.
  • At some point, she was with an elven man, whom had a thick grasp on her heart. So much so that she literally ripped her heart out and put it in a small cage. She wanted him to kill her by crushing it when she becomes too much of a problem. He returned it soon after, before he made the move to kill her for leaning too much to the bad side of things. It wasn't the first betrayal she experienced.
  • She helped an elf with a curse, transferring it to herself by taking the inflicted diadem for herself. This is how her left arm rotted.
This is not her full history. More will be added at a later time.
