Kasimir is part of the shadow group of mages known as the Forsaken. Made up of the children the people of Vel Anir are ashamed to admit they had a hand in creating, the group are trained in the art of stealth and murder. Kasimir has no alliance, though if questioned he would say he was loyal to Vel Anir, though this is more due to the runes infused with his skin that keep him in line.

He is a quiet individual who prefers his own company, though whether this is out of preference or practicality due to what he is and how he is controlled, is uncertain. Once someone does finally manage to coax conversation out of him they may find him quite humorous and surprisingly considerate of other peoples feelings.

Across his body are shadowy tattoos that you may just find... move.

Skills and Abilities

Generic: Like with all Forsaken, Kasimir has gone had a thorough education, mainly in the art of killing and subterfuge. From weaponry to poisons, language, and stealth.

Magics: Kasimirs gifts are as dark as his parentage and revolve around the art of shadows. Kas can talk to the darkness around him and make pacts with the different creatures that live in it. They appear across his skin like tattoos and act as his weapons with each one possessing a slightly different ability. Sometimes these creatures have a mind of their own and will go beyond his orders to create further destruction but they are held in check by the Runes that bind Kasimir's loyalty to that of Vel Anir.

Biography & Lore

Kasimir was dropped on his merchant fathers doorstep a few months after his sordid evening with a beautiful woman two port towns over. Horrified by this gift but ashamed he took the child in before anyone else could see it and trusted its upkeep to a nurse.

The child and woman lived pretty much alone in the cell Kasimir's father had provided them. In the darkness the whispers begun and Kasimir showed his talent for making pacts with the creatures human eyes could not see. He got his first shadow tattoo at the age of seven; a hulking black dog. Upon hearing the commotion in the cell, especially the nurses hysterical panic as a huge black dog materialised from the darkness, his father wrenched open the door with the mindset to beat the child black and blue. Unfortunately for him he was met with a snarl of teeth and claw, the shadow animal ripping him to shreds.

Kasimir had grown to have real affection for the nurse, even though she was horrified by him. Still, she played along and let the little boy guide her out of the cell she had basically been a prisoner in for years. She convinced the boy to give her an hour to get them supplies, huddling him in a doorstep. It was not the nurse who returned for Kasimir however, but the Forsaken.

Kasimir endured endless tortures during his training and watched many in his classes die. He learned to be uncaring and unthinking, to lock his mind away even before the Runes were in put in place during his graduation. He has worked uncomplaining for the last few years of his life carrying out the dirty work of the people of Vel Anir but inside he burns with an all consuming rage to raze the city to the ground and make it pay for what it has done to him and his fellows.
