Being a Demon Hunter takes courage and determination, and Kaige is one of the best. He hunts not only demons, but monsters and humans who may as well be monsters. Blood and death he does not fear, and many fear him. But for those who are fortunate will encounter his kinder, gentler side, which wishes only to protect the land he loves.
Appearance
Kaige is extremely fit, but his true strength is his swiftness and agility. Years of training since he was a child has honed his natural affinity to speed and dexterity, and while simple physical strength was never ignored, Kaige's deadly style of fighting with his spear has felled many enemies, both human and monster. He has learned to use his spear as nearly an extension of himself, taking full advantage of its length and his skill in wielding it to lethal effect.
While Kaige is quite strong physically, his magical abilities and affinity for magical spells are lacking. He has had to work hard to master his one light healing spell, and harder to make sure using it repeatedly does not immediately exhaust him. Also, as litheness and speed are his speciality, he is also less hardy than the more muscular warriors.
Kaige is very strong willed, and mind control is something he has worked against. His mental barriers are nearly impenetrable to break, though it is not know whether this resistance was something he was born with or something that he gained through his extensive training.
Unfortunately, Kaige is susceptible to emotional manipulation. While he was far from abused as a child, he has always longed to have a relationship with anyone who appreciated him as a person, rather than a useful tool to fight the evils against the world. He doesn't hold this unfortunate common viewpoint against those who have it, but he does hope there's more to him than just a fighter.
He is often garbed in his signature, custom fitted leather armor, with simple, black tunic and breeches underneath, something blood will not show as well on. he does know how to dress well, but his work usually does not permit fancy clothes.

Skills and Abilities
Demon Hunter Spear - a long spear with a reinforced metal handle and a highly refined metal blade, reinforced by magic. It is thus very durable and has seen years of use. It has never been broken.
Demon Hunter Armor - a custommade, black leather suit that fits Kaige like a glove. It has several plates and buckles perfectly made for his size and build. While flexible, the armor is also very resistant to blades, physical attacks, and light offensive spells. It is heavily resistant to fire attacks. The armor can be dismantled and separated into a simple chest plate and other peices that can be worn by themselves.
Light Healing - a simple but effective healing spell that can be used for the self or for others. Although it is only truly useful for light to moderate injuries, it has saved his life more than once, as well as that of others.
Blood Magic Rune Breaker - Kaige's special ability to lock down Infirms where demons come from requires a mild offering of blood and an understanding of relatable runes. This reusable spell is required to cut off communication with the demon world, and is something only Demon Hunters know.
Break Infirms - Using a combination of blood magic and rune spells, Kaige can shut down demonic Infirms, rendering the portal they come from unusable.
Demonic Speech - While not exactly fluent, Kaige can understand a few demonic words and can understand it well enough to get the intent and gist of the conversation.

Personality
Kaige is a solitary demon hunter, usually stalking his prey alone. This is not out of a wish to be truly alone, but rather out of a wish to keep others out of harms way. He tends to be a paternal figure to those younger than him (sometimes even to those who are older), never withholding secrets or bits of wisdom and experience that might help others to survive in a harsh and unforgiving land. Though far from cynical and blessed with a fair sense of humor, Kaige's outlook on the surrounding world has been fairly tempered, seeing death, torment, pain and far more horrific experiences that would break any man of a weaker nature.
