He Who Chews The Flowers
Often in the Ixchel Wilds.
The poor creature never had a name. His title was given to him by a warrior he once knew that witnessed him chewing on wildflowers to cure his anxiety.
It is speculated that the thing was once some sort of fae guardian but it’s birth/creation is a complete mystery even to it.
He Who Chews The Flowers is a very simple and very sad creature. It seems to crave companionship but due to it‘s horrific appearance it is often treated as a threat upon sight. It also is poor in it’s ability to communicate. It struggles greatly with common languages and has little control over the volume of it’s voice.
It is difficult to determine the motivations of the creature but prolonged time spent with it often reveals that it is a gentle and otherwise kind beast.
Appearance
Hard to describe He Who Chews The Flowers as anything but massive. He stands at a formidable eight feet tall which has another two or so feet added by it’s jagged deer horns. It’s head is that of a deer skull which seems to not move when He talks. His fur is dirty and jet black but often covered by makeshift armor he has made from driftwood and fallen bark. Despite his imposing size and immense weight, he seems to be rather lithe.
Skills and Abilities
Worship The Moon / Starve Our Blind Sun
He Who Chews The Flowers is a gentle horror and pulls from both ends of that for his arsenal of abilities. His physical attributes are often used for a nightmarish and devastating outcome, whereas his magic seems to be lovely and beneficial.
(Worship The Moon) Floral Breath: At will, He is able to bring life to the nature around him. He can grow moss, flowers and any other flora to immeasurable lengths and beauty. It has no intrinsic power and seems to only follow the laws of what that overgrowth would bring.
(Worship The Moon) And All Her Grisly Stars: The phases of the moon seem to amplify what this beast can do. A crescent moon gives him the ability to move at immense speeds akin to that of a large cat. A half moon grants the same boon as the crescent as well the ability to call for aid from nearby animals. A full moon grants him both the crescent and half moon bonuses, as well as the ability to use some sort of cosmic magic. It acts as a sort of element-less energy or force magic that appears as stars in his hand and can be dished out as beams or projectiles. It is undetermined what a blood moon or an eclipse will do to him.
(Starve Our Blind Sun) The Fury of Nightmares: He has incredible, indescribable physical strength. He is capable of uprooting trees with a single hand and swinging them as bludgeons. This power is rarely seen due to his own dislike of it, and it also leaves him exhausted if used for (15 minutes) or longer. He is also extremely slow if not under the moon.
(Starve Our Blind Sun) Impregnable: He does not seem to feel pain. He is also capable of regenerating wounds while he sleeps. He is however incapable of telling how much damage he has sustained and never knows how close to death he is.
Personality
He Who Chews The Flowers is usually quiet to a fault. Years of being treated like a monster has led him to learn to keep his mouth shut in fear that his demonic voice will frighten whoever he is trying to converse with. At his core, he is a gentle creature. He wishes to spend days with friends if he can make them or sleeping amongst other animals. He is a carnivore but tries not to kill if he doesn’t have to. He will eat old corpses and anything that he kills in self defense.
He loves to learn, and finds the things people teach him wonderful and interesting, even if his intelligence bars him from understanding it completely.
