"Don't misunderstand me. I can sympathize just fine without having to empathize or have spent a day in your shoes. We all face different struggles and to fault anyone because of that is alienating and cruel."

Appearance

Faera is a statuesque middle aged woman with fair features that look like they were sculpted by a master artist. Her body is in peak physical condition, lean with muscles that are well defined and perfectly symmetrical. Her pale skin is soft to the touch and fair. Her smooth hair is meticulously combed and soft, cascading down her back to her thighs.

As a noble in the Elbion court she dresses as befits her station, fine clothes made for comfort and style and functionality. But even in spite of her extravagant and exotic appearance she's surprisingly easy to miss. One might be surprised to see her suddenly standing behind them.

Personality

Faera is a serious woman whenever monsters are involved. She's all business and totally focused whenever she's on a job and nothing is more important.
When she has leisure time (Which is rare) she likes the company of only a few people, a quiet library with a good book, and a glass of wine. In spite of her wealth she enjoys the simple things in life and doesn't take them for granted.

She has nerves of steel, one minute she's staking vampires through the heart, decapitating their heads, stuffing their mouths with garlic, and consecrating their corpses, the next she's talking about the weather and the state of affairs. She doesn't get flustered or fussed very easily, but she's not pleasant to be around when she does lose her cool.

She has a calm demeanor and a predatory eye, when she moves it's with the feline grace of a great lioness stalking her prey. She oftentimes goes unnoticed because of how silently she can move about and often startles people when she suddenly appears behind them. All traits and training of a master monster hunter, a professional in her trade.

Abilities, Traits & Weaknesses

{Abilities}
Master Duelist: She's an expert with one handed swords with the rapier as her weapon of choice. She can disarm a man, cut his belt, pop his shirt buttons, slap both sides of his face, and sheath her sword all before his weapon hits the ground.

Martial Artist: In her life she's had to fight on many fronts. Monsters and men make themselves her enemies, and she needs to fight them without a weapon. She's learned from some of the legendary warriors of the Eastern Continent and she can fight on par with them.

Monster Hunter: She has a wide knowledge of various monsters, creatures, beasts, abominations, and animals. She knows their known facts, known origins, their strengths, habitats, and the best way to kill them.

Linguist: She's familiar with the common tongues and dialects of the known sentient races to a greater or lesser degree to where she can at least roughly communicate with them if she had to.

{Traits}
Athlete: She's in top physical condition, especially for her age. She's not slowed down or weakened one bit from when she was younger, in fact she might have even continued to grow stronger and even more healthy as her life draws on. She doesn't tire easily and she can hold her own more than well enough against men or monsters equal or superior to her.

{Weaknesses}
Nearsighted: In spite of her health her eyes have been a bit weak since she was a child. She wears glasses in order to see and read up close.

Biography

As a child of the Ayammetu family in the city of Oban, Faera lived a sheltered life, groomed and trained to be a good and beautiful wife to someone someday. That was the lot of every young girl in Dalriada, but Faera had a defiant streak that drove her parents crazy, however, they were assured by all her tutors that this was merely a phase and that she would break eventually.

But, as fates are often cruel in a lawless world, this grooming was cut short at a young age when her father, a wealthy noble, and her mother, a doting lamb of a woman, were traveling on the wilderness roads between Oban and Alliria and both were killed in their carriage by a wandering troll. Their guards were useless against the monster and were incapable of defending their Lord and Lady.
All of them were slaughtered, and this left Faera the sole heir of the family fortune, something almost unheard of in the kingdom of Dalriada.
Not only was the family wealth going to be fully owned by a woman, but she was also only a child!
The city of Oban was prepared to absorb her families' assets, send her to an orphanage, and let the fates decide for her where her life will lead.

But Faera wouldn't stand for it. She didn't wait for fate to take her life down a rapid river of misery, she took hold of fate and twisted it to her own ends.
She was able to reach out to some family friends who she knew fairly well, people who were not citizens of Oban or Dalriada. She left inquiries and investigated her options, because nobody from Oban would tell her anything. Using her already budding charisma she was able to get a list of options and second opinions.
Her parents were dead, and all of their possessions were now legally hers, but the city was threatening to take all of her possessions.
She had to relocate, liquidate her own assets and leave Dalriada before they could stop her.

And she had limited time. Nearly a week after her parents' death people began coming to her estate with notice to take her away. She never answered the door, but had her servants send them away each time. They would come in force eventually, but she was going to be long gone by then.
She decided to take her family treasures and wealth and go to Elbion, along with her servants who knew her since she was little and watched her grow up.

All her parent's friends in Oban on all sides urged her to not stand out, to not step out of bounds of ladyhood and simply remain a docile little girl, to not try to be successful on her own. But she knew what she wanted, and their words fell on deaf ears all the way up the gangplank to the ship that carried everything she owned and would carry her to Elbion.

The trip to Elbion was far from uneventful. Faera knew that once they found out she left the rulers of Oban would be absolutely beside themselves with rage, their faces getting red and their cheeks puffing up at the indignation. They were about to steal from HER, but no doubt they would accuse her of theft since her families' assets should have gone to the state since her father was an important government figure.
But thankfully they weren't stupid enough to send the Griffon Guard after her. She was well within her rights to leave, and since they had not yet seized her wealth, it was hers to take with her.

The journey was filled with peril without hounding from Oban nobility. It was as if the ship was cursed, almost daily they were attacked by monsters from the sea. Luckily there were plenty of monster hunters and mercenaries they had hired in anticipation of this trip, and she learned they were worth every cent.
Faera was awed especially by the Monster Hunters, they had knowledge and specialized weapons and tools for dealing with each different threat they faced.

Over the months of travel, she spent time with the Monster Hunters and mercenaries. She learned much from them especially how to fight, how to use a rapier, and various techniques for dealing with monsters. She watched them as they dealt with Sea serpents, Kivren Pirates, Sahuagin raiders, drowned dead, Sirens, giant prawns, one night on a full moon they even got attacked by a wereshark!

She turned seventeen during that trip, and all the while she never stopped educating herself. She poured over maps and manuals, talked to the sailors and ship captain, even learned some martial arts from one of the mercenaries who was from the Eastern continent.
She wanted to know everything, how to fight, how to sail the ship, how to cook sea serpent. She drove the crew crazy from all her questions.

Eventually they arrived in Elbion, safe and sound, and Faera was already brimming with hope! looking forward to a new day of opportunities!
