Corin Rook
Corin Rook is an oddly tall half-elf sword for hire. Often known for her recklessness and scrappy skill with a blade. She is never one to stay in one place for long. Corin always drifts from town to town, taking on odd jobs to her stomach and wallet full. Whether it’s mercenary contracts, monster hunts, or escort jobs, she always completes the task with a burning enthusiasm.
Despite the glory and pay, she denies that its for those two simple things. Corin’s real motivation lay in the stories her mother told her as a child — tall tales of heroes, monsters, and a world far larger than the one she knew.
One figure was always at the center of those stories: a giant man driven by fire to be more than what he was, with a kind heart few ever saw. To Corin, he was a hero — someone she wanted to become, and maybe even meet, if he was as real as her mother made him seem.
Now grown, the young half-elf chases those same legends, hoping to uncover if there was truth behind the bedtime stories and, in the process, find her own place among them.

Appearance
Corin Rook is a young half-elf with a sharp, striking presence that makes her hard to overlook. Her hair is a deep copper-red, often loose or pulled up into a ponytail. Freckles dust her fair skin, standing out against the faint smudges of dirt. Her features carry the usual angular grace of her elven heritage — high cheekbones, pointed ears — but her sharp eyes, the color of amber or gold, are easily a hint of her fire giant heritage, a gift from her father.
She dresses practically. Her armor is a fitted mix of dark leather and worn steel, patched and reinforced in places but well-maintained. She wears no emblems or marks of ownership, a true sword for hire. At her side, an old sword hangs, its grip wrapped in dark red leather from years of use.
Corin’s build is lean and athletic, the kind of strength earned from constant travel and work rather than formal training. She stands tall, often with a confident — sometimes cocky — stance that shows her youth and frequently gets her into trouble.

Skills and Abilities
As is tradition for her mother’s family, Corin was trained as a skilled hunter and swordswoman. Her abilities were shaped under her mother’s guidance — a retired monster hunter — and she learned to fight and survive. From a young age, Corin learned how to fend off dangerous creatures, read signs of movement in the wild, and strike with precision when necessary.
Along with training, Corin is a capable hunter and gatherer. She’s able to identify edible plants and track game to sustain herself during long travels.
Her athletic build gives her strong endurance and physical strength. This allows her to travel long distances and endure harsher conditions more easily than other travelers.
While strong, Corin has some intelligence. She’s quick to adapt and learn new physical skills, but she lacks the patience and the caution typical of most elves. Corin more often relies on her instincts and sheer dumb luck, trusting both will carry her through whatever danger she finds herself in… usually of her own conviction.

Personality
Corin is confident, outgoing, and often a little too sure of herself. She approaches most situations with humor and an easygoing attitude, rarely taking anything too seriously — until she’s forced to. She works hard and takes genuine pride in her skill with a sword, which often leads her to act first and think later, relying on instinct and a bit of luck to get her through whatever trouble she finds.
Because of her mother’s lycanthropy and her father’s half–fire giant blood, Corin’s body runs hotter than most. She has a high metabolism and an almost constant appetite, often seen chewing on something — dried meat, fruit, or whatever she can find. Her parentage also gives her boundless energy, making her quick on her feet and rarely still for long.
She enjoys meeting new people and has a habit of talking her way both into and out of situations with a mix of charm and sarcasm. Despite her rough edges, Corin isn’t unkind. She helps others when it feels right, but would never admit to doing it out of compassion. More often than not, she’ll shrug it off with her usual excuse: “It sounded like a good idea at the time.” It’s her reasoning for almost everything she does, good or bad.
Though intelligent, Corin often lacks the foresight people expect from someone with elven blood. She prefers action over planning and loses interest quickly in long-term goals. Living in the moment matters more to her than anything else, which makes her restless by nature. She’s happiest when moving, fighting, or chasing her next adventure — especially if it pays well.
Physically, Corin bears traits from both sides of her lineage. Her ears are shorter than a typical half-elf’s, a feature she’s quietly sensitive about and tends to hide beneath her hair or a hat. It’s one of the few things that can actually make her uncomfortable. Otherwise, she carries herself with the unshakable confidence of someone who believes she can take on whatever the world throws at her.
