Thinking about a small conflict or skirmish between a troop of undead led by Sathirena (in her spirit form, warped in a vaguely human shape) and [inser your chosen group here] for the control of a small, yet important piece of land.
The reasons can be numerous.
To protect territory, to protect local civilians.
Etc. ~

We can let the dice decide or pick and outcome beforehand depending on the given situation ;)
I'm not particularly in favour of any outcome, I'm here for the sweat, rot and blood and the agonising screams of the living.

Then you’ll be both pleased and disappointed. The forces of Duke Kinniger have faced the armies of vampires in battle for centuries! A fight ye seek? Well, ask, and ye shall receive!

C=<

I would prefer him to emerge victorious though, but not necessarily to have killed your dragon. again anyway.

Sounds good to me~
We should arrange the details of the conflict (and see who else wants to join)

Perhaps around a village so other PCs that wanna join can have an excuse to without being members of a standing army.

I was thinking that it technically be outside his territory but recent events make the react very aggressively. And so the standing armies arrive late only so that they can finish the battle, not be involved from the start. So my idea is, Eberwolf and a small unit of soldiers, twenty to thirty, ride ahead to hold the village while the main army is sent a message to mobilize, which takes a few weeks for the message to arrive there and another week for the armies to actually arrive.

Sorry for not getting to you earlier, I dropped off into a writer's swamp.
Sir Eberwolf Kinniger if you're still interested we can start regardless~ What you propose sounds good to me and I have no further comment other than, let's go and kick booty.

No need to fret mighty foe! Patience is the mark of a true warrior, and a Knight is no knight unless patience he has mastered! Life does not obey us, we must obey it and this is understood by all!

So who shall take the first steps in the titanic struggle? Shalt thou strike the first blow? Or shall I cry out a challenge?

(In normal speak, I’d love to do this. You starting or am I?)

It is true that one's patience must be honed, it is not a quality one is born with, yet that is not what the undead army calls for, to hasten the demise of those still living.

;P

I think you should give it a start and I'll come rolling like thunder on two ;) !
I'll inquire some other folks if they'd like to attend as well so we're not alone~

Very well enemy mine, answer my challenge once you’ve heard it. (I’ll post it here once it’s up.)

Sir Eberwolf Kinniger I believe a single soldier with a sword would not be able to get close enough to armoured soldiers mainly carrying polearms and dismantle seven of them.
I would like you to trust me to calculate the losses on my end fairly and reasonably myself :p.

Yeah, fair enough, I was going off of mostly the nature of plate armour, since a spear stands 0% chance of getting through unless it hits the mail in the joints and the length of his sword. I'll edit that out. Sorry.

It's getting closer, but it's still godmodding. Reduce the number to 0.
You can attempt to strike at them, bash away spears and the like.
But ultimatively it's up for me to decide if your strategy works or not.

Just like how I can't harm your characters with my strikes, only attempt to, it's up to you to decide if you counter, dodge, got hit etc.
I'd like the same sort of combat ethuiqette applied both ways.

Also plate is by no means invincible. Polearms were pretty good against it regardless. One still has to account for blunt force trauma concentrated in a point, as well as the knockback from hits.
You have to also assume that a squad of boys of lonk poky sticks will try poke you at bay!

Again I say, fair enough. No dead skellingtons, well, double-dead I guess. Whatever, done.

Very true, though with just a spear, the biggest advantage it has is reach, and even then it's hard to aim from that far away.

(Have I met someone who I can debate and discuss historical weaponry and armour function?(@_@) )

Thank you.
We have a lot of armour nerds on the site btw so if you maybe start a forum discourse they'll come lol.

Will do. I always like to have a bit or realistic physics in my RPs.

Funny story, I just watched the first episode of The Witcher yesterday, and I was gripping my armrests while I watched the battle scene. XD
