XoChitl is a Raev, a humanoid species with predatory avian ancestry. In ages past, the Raev were a species with primordial access to magic. Their bodies were naturally attuned to the primordial energy that surrounded them, able to manipulate magic through the use of channeling this energy through their bodies and manifesting it into physical energy much like the Aleriza, a great predatory bird. Their legs are lengthy, walking on extended claw foot toes like a bird, with powerful muscles along their thighs to allow for high jumps and to cross for distances. Their bones are hollow, giving them lightweight but also prone to breaking with hard landings or knockbacks. Their eyes have vertical slits, much likes felines, allowing them to shutter in size to increase their depth perception and night vision. They have pointed ears covered in what could only be described as extremely fine fur that is almost akin to hair. These large ears allow for extraordinary hearing, but also means that loud noises can easily startle or overwhelm them.

Originally, their arms were wings, allowing them to fly. However, a past incident with the mages resulted in a curse by the Herald, and their wings were ultimately the price. Now, they have arms akin to that of a human, with clawed fingers, but still pay tribute to their avian ancestry by wearing a feathered cape that each Raev must make during their coming of age by hunting and killing, an Aleriza, a great predatory bird that would nest at the highest peaks of the IxChell Wilds. This act would pay the magical price that would sate the Herald, allowing a Raev access to the Aleriza's magical abilities and take them as their own. Although cursed to no longer fly, they are still capable of moving much like the predatory Raev in their ancestry, making them cunning hunters and rogues.
