Born into minor Allirian nobility, William was expelled from Elbion for his research into necromancy and death magic. He would argue that his expulsion was unjust, based on hysterics, and a manipulation of his research by a jealous rival.

He was still expelled.

Told to count himself lucky that he wasn't put up for execution.

Farflung, and unwilling to relent in his pursuit, William continues his studies independently. Until recently, he had been doubling as a light house attendant and an apothecary down in the Crossroads.

Appearance

Slightly below average height, and just full enough to not look gaunt. William's figure looks frail and delicate, but, being so active in the world outside has made him surprisingly tough and able. Against dangerous treks and long hikes at least. He is near useless in a fight.

Biography & Lore

Born into the gentry of Alliria, he is the younger of two brothers. Where Alonse was tall, strong and sure, William was meek, doubtful, and small.

It was his good fortune then, that the Dreixmonds were close to the magically inclined, Delrios, who helped the young Dreixmond family in that way of families and friends, a helpful hand, a warm favor, a recommendation here and an invitation there.

Alonse took to the military arts. Riding, archery, swordsmanship, while William found his talents in the academic and bookish. While Alonse had no trouble finding his own glory and success, William was ever more reclusive, awkward, and ill suited for the demands of high society.

Lucky for him, the middle Delrio child, Detlef, took an interest in him, guiding him along as he himself prepared for the world of Academia. It helped that the youngest Delrio, Lechies, was of about the same age, and that both were admitted to the preeminent magic college of Elbion. The Delrio's even going so far as to give William a letter of recommendation.

Maybe that was why when he was expelled from the campus without receiving the honor of graduation and proper accreditation, he did not bother to return home. He was sure Alonse would win the family enough recognition on his own and, well, he just couldn't bare the thought of seeing his family again. A failure, after all they had done for him.

Not unless he returned vindicated.

Thus, he wandered the lands. Ended up at the Crossroads, where he tended the lighthouse, and... well, went on with his research.
