Volos the Verdant
Appearance
Stocky and muscular in build, Volos once exemplified all that it was to be a dwarf. He bears long, straight, white hair and a well kept beard and mustache of the same color. His skin has turned green, a side-effect he claims to be from becoming once with nature and Arethil herself. He has sprouted a set of wooden, antler like growths from his brow that glow and pulse with mana. His eyes, too, glow this way.
Volos garnishes himself in clothing made from natural materials. Wood, leaves, and leathers make up his ensemble.

Skills and Abilities
Volos is an extraordinarily talented druid, able to make use of the magic of nature with ease and proficiency. Among his arsenal of spells includes the ability to manipulate and control plants and their growth; the ability to speak with, control, and empower animals; shapeshifting himself or parts of himself into the forms of various plants and animals; and healing wounds by instilling the wounded with the energy of the world.
The Archdruid is an exceptional public speaker. He has already convinced many to join his cause. He has a presence which transcends his modest, dwarven form, and a voice that carries much further than anyone might expect. His charisma is almost as powerful a weapon as his magic.
Though he prefers not to fight up close and personal, his time in his previous life has left him more than well acquainted with martial weaponry. He carries a wooden stave and has bopped more than a few heads in his time.
He believes his most important and powerful ability to be his unique connection to the world itself. He shares a strange bond with Arethil, and can apparently communicate with the planet's soul, hear Her voice, and speak on Her behalf.

Personality
Some would describe Volos the Verdant as strong-willed, self-sacrificing, determined, and committed. They would speak of his absolute devotion to the good of the world and his overwhelming desire to see it saved. They might tell you of his charismatic and caring nature, of how he watches carefully over the members of his flock.
Others would tell you of the tales of the infamous Volos the Mad. They would tell you of his violent, extreme ideals and methods. They would tell you of a man blinded by rage and hatred, of a reckless and stubborn fool who refuses to see reason.
Neither side is mistaken.

Biography & Lore
Born and raised in Belgrath, Volos once lived the life of a simple soldier. Eventually he grew tired of the civilized lifestyle and left his home city to venture out into the wild and reconnect with nature. In nature he found peace and purpose, and for a time, happiness. He learned the ways of druidic magic and connected with the essence of nature. It came to him with ease, and he knew he had discovered his true place in the world.
Some ten years after he began his pilgrimage through Arethil's wilderness, he began to hear a voice. The voice, he came to realize...the voice of Arethil, Herself. The voice pleaded with him for help, and bid him observe what the civilizations of the world had wrought upon the land. Volos, intrigued by this strange intrusion in his mind, obliged.
What he found shook him to his core. War and industry of the various nations had wreaked havoc and destruction upon the land. The people of the world were killing their own home, slowly and painfully. Arethil was suffering. For many years, Volos became a vocal advocate within many cities for a return to the old ways, a halt of industrial progress, an end to war. His pleas fell upon deaf ears for decades.
All the while, the Soul of the World cried to him, begged for release. Finally, the dwarven druid could take it no longer. The "civilized" world would not listen to reason, would never cease their destructive ways. Arethil was dying, and there was only one way to save Her: through the utter annihilation of civilization as it stands now.
Volos formed the Primordial Path, a druidic circle of like-minded individuals who wish to see Arethil restored and kept safe. He leads them as their archdruid, ever working to bring other circles into their fold and to break apart the cities of the world, piece by piece.
