Virdalia Deuxstrom
"Freedom is not given, it is stolen from the hands of those who would see you broken. I have taken mine."
-Virdalia Deuxstrom

As the years went on and Virdalia progressed from childhood, if one could even call it that, she set out on a personal mission to learn. Studying texts owned by her masters, listening to them chatting whenever she had the chance. She found that she had a quick-witted mind and limitless creativity, creating and inventing things with limited tools and resources. Though, her contraptions were not well-received by her masters who often sought to stifle any semblance of creativity in the young girl.
Yet she never relinquished her thirst for knowledge, nor the dream of escape as it whispered in the corners of her mind. She drank deeply from the wells of learning, yet shrouded her true self in carefully measured ignorance. Her masters had carved into her the price of defiance, and she bore their lessons like shadows beneath her skin.
Years went by and eventually Vel Anir abolished slavery, but for an unfortunate few this only worsened their condition. These vicious slave owners just became more torturous and overbearing. Hiding their slaves away in secret, not allowing them to see the world outside. So she continued growing for the next 4 years, biding her time while she plotted her escape. She just needed a way out, and she was reaching a point of desperation. Years under the yoke of slavery hardened her, she was tired and fearful. Her mind became her own prison, along with the walls in which she was confined.
Though she had sparks of defiance; hope and kindness. She had learned that the best way to fight her oppressors were to not let their cruelty penetrate her psyche and soul. Born into a legacy of violence, she chose to make her own path. In offering small acts of kindness to those around her, she found fleeting relief for the weight that pressed upon her spirit.
