Uzama is a lone komodi, a tribesman without a tribe. He's made his way by being willing to do whatever job payed him, and moving on when the gold dried up. Moving cargo, poling ferries, digging trenches, Uzama will do any and all of it for a few coins a day. In the past decade, though, he's managed to break into a business that pays better than anything else he's ever done. Assassination. While that sounds glamorous, Uzama's work is not the elegant, high-stakes craft of the true legends and professionals. Uzama is the man you pay to strangle the cheater who robbed you at cards, or to drop the bandit who's been shaking down your caravan, or to gut the scumbag who stole your market stall. Gritty, quiet, and nothing anyone is going to remember in a few days. A handful of gold and some directions and Uzama is off on the job, just like any other.
It pays well, and people kill each other all the time in Amol-Kalit. No sense letting it stop you from buying your next drink or laughing at a good joke. If he's got enough food and water to keep him going to his next job, he figures the spirits are happy with him, so what could be wrong?

Appearance

Uzama is large for a human, and just a little tall for a komodi. Standing at 6'10" and built broad and muscular, he's fairly noticeable even in a crowd. He's covered in fine, dull gray scales, sports a pair of curling horns sweeping back on his head, and has a flat, severe face framing a pair of out-of-place blue eyes. He's usually dressed in the colorful robes and accoutrements of his people. Most of the time he can also be seen with his bow slung across his back, built to be drawn by someone of his size.

Personality

A simple man with simple tastes, Uzama doesn't care about much beyond making it through the day with enough coin to eat, having a laugh and a drink with some good people, and finding a nice place to sleep. Not malicious in the slightest, Uzama just prefers to let the world roll off of him. He offers prayers to the spirits his parents taught him about whenever he can, and when things aren't going well those prayers tend to get more fervent and happen more often. More than a little superstitious, he sees the spiritual and the supernatural as things that don't have anything to do with him, and any bad luck a result of improper devotion on his part or capriciousness on their part.
