The Ecumene of Aeraesar

Hilte
Aeraesar is a region located in the eastern most parts of Falwood. While to the north of this region is a densely forested area, the lands of Aeraesar itself are made up of many kinds of terrains, such as glades, open fields, plains, ravines and of course, dense forests as well as others.
These lands have for ages been primarily ruled by the most predominant of the regions powers - the Aerai of the Sharyrdian Order. However, being a benevolent people, they long ago established pacts with many peoples which, over time, came to dwell in the land of Aeraesar and their coming eventually resulted in a council of a vast number of peoples.
However, after a war that began and persisted for over a decade 130 years ago, this nation is now shattered, segregated, and besieged by monsters.
Now, a new war rages in these lands. The Aerai, the age-old stewards of this land, have set out to once again establish this great nation.
Hierarchy
The primary authority in Aeraesar is placed upon the Ecumene Council, called as such for its inclusion of various peoples.
Consisting of representatives from various people of Aeraesar, those sitting on the Ecumene Council are unanimously seen as spokespersons for their kind, and those who sit upon its Conclave are seen as their peoples' leaders. The Council as a whole gather together to discuss a variety of topics, but ultimately the members of the Conclave itself are responsible for a final decision to be made.
At present, the Sharyrdian Order are the only active participants on the Council.
Members of the Conclave:
Ánië Táralóm
Beneath the council, there is no hierarchy which truly stretches over the region. Instead, the various internal hierarchies are well known amongst one another, and each person's standing giving their due respect. While in times of peace it is uncommon for the various groups to infringe on one another's hierarchies, in times of conflict these lines, by design, often become blurred.
Despite their differences as peoples and cultures, the people of Aeraesar have always worked in harmony with one another.

Peoples of Aeraesar
The Aerai - The Sharyrdian Order
Rules
Aeraesar is meant to be a nation made up of various kinds of people.
The Aerai of the Sharyrdian Order were once - and still are - considered the greatest power in the region, and as such are usually regarded as liken to a respected nobility. The Sharyrdian Order have their own set of rules and guidelines. Having been the first to settle this region, many - but not all of these - are prevailing across all of Aeraesar.
With this all being said, it is completely acceptable to establish a people-group to dwell in Aeraesar alongside the Aerai.
The most predominant laws that, since the beginning, have been established amongst the various peoples of Aeraesar are these:
All peoples should align with benevolent tendencies.
All peoples can have their own culture, religion and traditions.
Each of the peoples of Aeraesar are free to come and go where they choose.
One another's traditions are to be respected.
All who dwell in Aeraesar are to be viewed in equal esteem.

Intent
The story so far has the region being left largely decimated and disorganized after a war that took place 130 years ago. Ever since, the land has been plagued by curses and monsters, and the various people groups have been segregated from one another, if not wiped out entirely.
Now, a new war has begun, and the Aerai have started a campaign to restore the region to what it once was. To do this, they have called for aid from various kingdoms and peoples across Arethil.
In these ways, Aeraesar is intended to not only be a nation made up of the Aerai and the Sharyrdian Order, but of the various peoples who may have existed in the past, and/or the ones who have come to aid them in this new time.
The Aeraesar group aims to encompass and offer wide range of activities, such as:

- The Sharyrdian Order - a well established society to either be a part of or be in association with.
- An active, ongoing and evolving war-time environment with a well established NPC faction.
- Cultural development.

- Mini-games! (See the War Board OOC page!)

And most importantly, fun.

Lore
The region of Aeraesar was once, for ages, long the domain of the Aerai people. This is made clear by the great cities, and various fortresses of their making that dot the region. And though they had for a great span of time seemingly been the sole people of this place, over time, a great many kinds of people came to dwell in this land. They were invited first as refugees, and on through time established various towns and even cities of their own.
These various peoples consisted of other elves, but also dwarves, orcs and humans too, and some more interesting peoples.
As the ages passed, these peoples came to enough prominence that the Aerai saw fit to include them in more potent affairs, and a council of many peoples was formed. Each of them spoke for their own kind, and they each acted individually for the greater good of one another.
Some preferred to have a more segregated existence from the others, while some preferred to be more integrated. Regardless of these differences, each and every one of the peoples who dwelt in Aeraesar had a voice in the Council of Aeraesar, that met regularly in the Aerai capital of Sharyrdaes.
Though the Aerai were firm believers of the Celestialist doctrines, they were in no way detractors from the beliefs of others so long as they were peaceful. In this way, the Council of Aeraesar is an Ecumene, allowing for the practices of various beliefs and religions to be held in equal esteem, all so long as they prevail in benevolence.
This nation was shattered in a war the befell the land 130 years ago, carried out by monsters and evil individuals. While in this war it was clear the vendetta was aimed firstly at the elven Aerai, for all anyone knew, none were spared the onslaught of the dark monsters. Now in these days, the Aerai seek to rebuild the nation that was once a proud and diverse paradise.
