The Crown of the Runekeeper was crafted thousands of years ago to assist the mages of Luminore with the management and maintenance of their magically advanced city and the large reserves of magic that it contained. The spirit houses inside the crown served as a pseudo-librarian for much of the cabal's knowledge. While the civilization may have fallen to its own hubris, the crown remained awaiting the next visitors to come and retrieve them.

The sentient crown not only had highly advanced knowledge of ancient runes and formula knowledge, but the crown also features an incredible ability to learn other bits of knowledge while also assisting the user in their own magical abilities.

Description

A relatively unassuming metal circlet, if not for the magical crystal at its center that houses the arcane repository that was crafted as the home for the spirit affectionately called Anna by those of the cabal.

History

The magically advanced civilization of Luminor was home to an incredibly advanced cabal of mages that used their advanced knowledge to craft their city and bend magic to their will to change the very world around them.

The crown of the Runekeeper was crafted by the cabal as a sentient intelligence for the purpose of managing and maintaining the systems that gathered magic for the city so that the cabal could spend time with their own interests. The spirit that the cabal had housed inside the crown was affectionately called Anna by some members.

The civilization would eventually fall to the hubris and experiments of their cabal, but the Crown, fearing the great loss of information the city had, created protective runes for itself in case the city was to fall. This would protect the spirit until the city was once again reawakened. While some parts of the Crown's memory have been damaged, it still houses a large amount of arcane knowledge for the wearer.
