Dearest Father, Mother,

All is well here on the road. You'll be happy to know that Trystan, Casparo, Ezekiel and Salvino are all doing well here in the Band. It shouldn't surprise you the task of writing has fallen to me - I don't think any of them even think about writing home! - but I thought you would like to know that we have recently crossed the Mazz without much blood lost on our side. Spirits are high and the soldiers here are eager to see fiercer battles. Father, you will be pleased to know I am progressing well with the pike and sword, and I have even taught a few archers a thing or two!

Ezekiel will be writing to you to ask you to order me home, he does not think it is safe here for me. You should remind him that I'm a much better shooter than he is only two minutes older than me and I am perfectly capable of looking after myself!

Give Mireia a good pat from me.

Your devoted daughter.

Appearance

Thalia is slender woman still more use to the boyish frame of her youth than the beginnings of her adult body. She walks with her shoulders thrown back like a young soldier and with the swagger one would expect to see in a young man rather than a woman, a tell-tale sign she grew up with brothers for playmates rather than sisters who enjoyed tea parties and sewing. Her thick black hair is often tied back into braids and she shuns the stereotypical feminine fashion, feeling far more at home in breeches and boots or her maille shirt than skirts.

Whilst she is not quite skilled enough to use both the blades she wears on her hips in times of battle, she is not often seen without a long bow, quiver and horn which she uses in her scouting missions for the band she has found herself in.

Skills and Abilities

Knight in Training: Thalia's skills in the knightly ways of jousting, lance-work, sword and spear are a work in progress and one she attends to with passionate vigour.

Sharp shooter: Whereas her skills with the typical knightly weapons are lacking her skills with the bow are most certainly not. In times of battle she annoyingly finds herself in the archer lines rather than in the heat of battle itself.

Tracker: Thalia has the natural ability to Track. She can sense where dark forces are gathering and if a skirmish or battle has taken place she is able to sense in which direction the opposing forces went.

Personality

Thalia is a passionate young thing with a stubborn determination to reach her lofty dreams and aspirations of becoming a Knight. Despite that the colour of youth still clings to her and she finds joy in rough-housing, tales around the fire, and can still find the ability to laugh after battles despite losses. The most childish she acts is when in the presence of her brothers, which is exasperated by the fact they still treat her like their five-year-old baby sister. She has a particular rivalry with her twin, Ezekiel, and the pair are often disciplined for causing brawls.

Biography & Lore

It's hard being the youngest out of nine children. It's even harder being the only girl.

Thalia was born to a minor Lord and Lady Velázquez with a twin brother, Ezekiel. Seven older brothers proceeded the pair and took them joyfully into their pack of rough-housing as they grew up. Their parents were often away on state matters and so the children were left to bring themselves up. Her older siblings ensured she was given the right education of hunting, shooting and hand to hand combat among dicing and gambling. The oldest four brothers who were a good twelve to ten years older than Thalia joined the Kings Service and rose to prominent positions in different regiments. The youngesters envied their older siblings but were loathe to join the same army only to find themselves constantly in the Golden Fours shadow.

When new spread of a new band of warriors growing in fame and acclaim throughout the region the youngest Velázquez's rushed to join up.
