They say Somrak and Zoran were inseperable. Like dawn from twilight. Two sides of the same card.

But when his brother spent his days with their mother, honing his unusual gift, Somrak would go out and mingle with his father's friend, a woodsman. There he learned to hunt and shoot targets.
Back then he wasn't quite invested in what the skills his brother posessed really meant. Only really mentioning them when they were applied to mess with him or his practicing.

When the day their mother had passed, everything changed. Their kind father turned cold and targeted his anguish against his sons.
Somrak would spend more and more time outside from the home. Helping less with farmwork and staying out for much longer.
He became their father's favored target. And on one night... Somrak simply does not remember anymore. OR at least pretends he does not. It was only traumatic.

But like father like son.
Somrak was quick to fall into alcohol to drown out.
Filling his empty void of a life in drink and trying to uphol some kind semplance of normal living by joining tournaments.
His talent proved him well and he was quick to end up as one of the local count's finest archers.
