Soliel comes from a renowned clan of masked martial mage hunters, known as the Order of the White Lotus. They are a family guild who are professionally hired across Liadain for their methods of being able to track down dangerous mages and magic users.

The Order of the White Lotus is a family guild whose members are either born into the clan or foundlings adopted at a very young age. They are given a mask upon a coming of age ceremony when young and forbidden from removing it. Much lore and myth are revolving around the masks, as there seem to be no actual eye slits for members to see through, but can still discern their surroundings around them.

The Order of the White Lotus traditions and methods revolve around their religion, culture, martial arts, and their specific forms and anti-magic techniques.

They are known for their use of masks, which they never remove, often receiving nicknames revolving around their use of these masks. It is seen as taboo to remove them in front of anyone, although there are particular rituals and rumors. Some say that because they have traded their real faces for the ability to become ruthless magic hunters, others say it is to hide deformities. Whatever it may be, the truth is not provided to anyone outside of the guild, and it is taboo to discuss it.

Members of the Order of the White Lotus typically are seen in pairs outside of their compound. It makes for an unsettling sight to see two pairs of expressionless masks upon members known to move stealthily. More often than naught, smaller rural villages look upon them with suspicion and perhaps, may mistake them as the rogue wild mages that they hunt, frequently calling them demons.
