Skyler grew up most of her life in Marakoosh, the main Kingdom and city within the Aberresai Savannah. Her mother was a renown teacher among the Circle of Healers there. She didn't know her father much, as he died during a skorpius attack, while defending one of the outskirt gryph tribes. But her three older brothers more than made up for any lack of male presence in her life. With too much grief tied to Marakoosh, her mother moved them all to Vel Hetren when Skyler was about thirteen years old.

Skyler's different accent wasn't quite as noticeable in this far northern city of Vel Anir as it would've been in the nation's capital. Friends weren't a hard thing for her to come by though she spent most of her time tending to the family's small herb garden and testing different treatments and remedies for burns, poisons, wounds, and pain. With her mother's healing background, the family quickly became known as one of the city's main apothecary's. Skyler grew an affinity for healing poultices and had a natural way with tending to the injured or sick. When her year of service within Vel Anir's guard came up, there was no question on what she would focus on. And with one of her brothers only two years ahead of her, she hopes to see him.

She was recruited quickly into the role of field medic.

Now if only she could learn to ride without so much discomfort.
