Appearance

Siris Tireal started off rather weak, coming from a family of arcane traders who dealt with enchanting items or fighting with magic. Over the years he trained himself to rely less on magic, using it as support and relying more on his physical body. Today he stands tall and proud, well over 6 feet tall. His body is built for countering his opponents, with enough muscle so his attacks have power behind them but mainly to be quick and agile. Long black haired streaked with grey is held back in a ponytail, hanging just to his shoulder blades. His daily clothes vary, and in battle he dons light plate armor that is etched with runes from the ancient, mostly unknown language of the Gemini race themselves.

A major mark is the scar which runs from hairline, across his right eye, and down towards his jawline. This scar is tied to the moment he vowed to eradicate all Anomalous Gemini.

Skills and Abilities

Siris is skilled with two primary things; combat using a variety of weapons, and arcane enchantment.

From the early age of just 16, when he lost his family, he trained in the Templars to use a variety of weapons, primarily swords and daggers, though he is adept at using pole weapons.

Arcane Enchantment: The Tracing Technique

Siris spent many hears hunting for knowledge on the Gemini, gaining some from those he hunted and other bits from ancient tomes and other relics left behind through the ages. Through these he learned the Gemini language, teaching himself how to both read and write in it.

These findings led him to discover what he considers the key to eradicating the Gemini; the techniques required to steal the power of a Gemini, and the material which can be used to harvest and harness that power.

He experimented for years, spending his late 20's figuring out how to apply this technique in battle. It wasn't until he tried to focus the power through the Gemini language that he found the Tracing technique.

This allowed him to, as the name implies, trace or outline weapons and armor in a coating of the power, giving them all the power of a normal enchantment, but with the added benefit of being able to wipe it away just as easily in order to trade the enchantment out with a new one mid combat.

This technique has two downsides. The first is that you must have the material mentioned before and it must be filled with the magic you want to use on your equipment, which must also have the Gemini language properly inscribed onto it.

The second is that the enchantment can be easily wiped by an outside force if an opponent has the ability to cancel magic, as the enchantment is simply a coating ON the equipment, not infused into it.

Personality

Despite his goals, Siris has a kind heart. He hates fighting more than anything else, and would prefer to avoid it if possible. Years spent traveling alone made him realize how much he missed his family and people in general. He is a very social man, always up for chatting or sharing a drink. Easy to approach, most seem him as a man who likes to spread the joy of the moment, as he knows how quickly everything can be taken.

However, when it comes to the Gemini, he is a complete different man. His smile turns to boiling rage and absolute hatred, his demeanor going from joyful to serious in no time at all. When it comes to hunting Gemini, he lets no one stand in his way, though refrains from hurting innocent lives if he can. In the end, though, the Gemini are his enemy, and only the most severe of situations would get him to stop trying to capture or kill one if they were in front of him.

Biography & Lore

Siris was born into a family of earned nobility, his family being known for and in the past granted their title for their prowess in arcane enchantment. This allowed him to grow up in his early years learning to hone his smarts. At a young age he began to learn how to work magic, from casting spells to enchanting items and equipment. He loved this life, as their profession often led them out into the wilderness to find materials for their trade.

It was during one of these trips, one where Siris, aged 16, and the rest of his family left for a large trip that would make or break their family business. They had been summoned to another city to help the guard by enchanting their equipment. This job would give them a standing in the world they never though possible, and they eagerly took up the offer.

It would never be.

Not even halfway through their multiple-day voyage, their caravan was hit by a massive storm that appeared out of nowhere. Clear skies darkened in seconds, an unnatural wind sweeping black clouds overhead. Lightning struck their guards and killed them instantly as the storm continued on. And just as quickly as it began, it stopped.

Siris and his family thought it was over, an anomaly of a storm that was as dangerous as it was quick. They realized they were wrong when they spotted two large, humanoid figures, each over 10 feet tall, staring at them with lightning-blue and swirling grey eyes.

Another blast of wind knocked Siris down as more lightning appeared, this time striking every member of his family and the spot where he had been standing before the wind knocked him over. He wasn't sure if thus was coincidence or luck, but he couldn't think much else about it.

When he looked back, the two were already turned around and walking away, speaking amongst themselves with only a few words being heard; FirstBorn, Gemini, and Eclipse. The rest was drowned by the wind, as was his movements as he tried to wake his family, praying for the best outcome.

He ended that day by burying his family in that forest, marking their graves using pieces of the destroyed caravan.

After traveling back to Elvora, partly by foot until another carriage came along and gave him a lift, he went to the Templars and told them what happened. He explained what he wanted to do, that he wished to join the Templars and one day create his own chapter specifically for hunting down whatever attacked his family so they wouldn't harm anyone else.

The Templar took him in and trained him to fight, giving him the skills needed to achieve his goal, and even gave him the time and resources to keep up his study on the arcane. During these years he would keep an ear and an eye out for anything related to the words he heard that day, leaving to investigate ruins and people who might have information.

It was in one of the ruins he found ancient manuscripts and writings telling the story of the Gemini. He stayed here for years, sending his travel partner, another Templar-to-be, to tell the chapter leader of his findings.

Once help arrived and aided him in returning his findings to Elvora he began to study these writings, teaching himself the language they were written in and through them the Tracing techniques.

These manuscripts also told him of the origin of FirstBorn, and a location where he could find material made by Gemini that could siphon their power. At the age of 25, he led an expedition to an unexplored wasteland they came to call hell.

They didn't know what caused it, but a large chunk of land roughly the size of a large city had been corrupted, twisted and malformed so that it was nothing more than a flat, barren desert strewn with crystal spires and impossible formations, centered around a massive crater full of chaotic energy. It was also home to powerful amalgamations that appeared to be formed of twisted and merged races and animals.

They lost a few people, but were able to obtain the materials Siris needed. From there they returned home and over the next decade Siris perfected Tracing, though needed someone to test it on.

His chance came when a few of his comrades approached saying they found someone who looks like what he had described kill his family. After gearing up they left to hunt this creature down. Upon arriving they discovered he was alone, and after planning their attack were lucky enough to surprise their enemy, taking him down quickly.

One of Siris' comrades specialized in canceling out magics, and made sure the Gemini couldn't use his as Siris got to work, using the crystal to successfully drain the Gemini, who passed out afterwards. They used him to fill multiple crystals, taking him prisoner for more of his power.

Another reason Siris kept the Gemini, was as proof. He wanted to make sure when the time cane, there was evidence of the Gemini and their destructive power. For it was soon he would start speaking with the Templar about making his own chapter to hunt down the new enemy.

But before he could do that. He wanted to be sure his techniques truly worked. Along with his friends, he traveled to a small village, one he had heard was harboring a pair of Gemini. When the Gemini fought back using flame and lunar magic, the ensuing battle wound up destroying the village, one of the two scarring Siris before fleeing with the other.

They had lost, but proved their weapons and enchantments worked, as both Gemini had been hurt. Now was the time for Siris to come forth and ask for his own chapter.
