Shiera was born in... who knows where. In fact, she doesn't even know who her parents were, although she vaguely remembers flashes of memories now and then. What she does know is that, at the age of four or five, her town was raided, destroyed. She remembers the fire, the screams, the blood, the confusion, the panic... and the magic. This moment was when she embedded a deep fear of magic, though she will deny such fear.
She was taken by the destroyers, maybe to sell as a slave, maybe out of a small amount of pity. The thing is, one night, she managed to escape, or perhaps they let her go. No matter the reason, she was soon taken in by a hunter, who kept her with him for a few nights, until he let her in Alliria, the big city, under the care of a small group of people who took orphan children under their wing and taught them the "art" (as they called it) of thievery and deceptions. The hunter kept visiting now and then, acting out as a sort of father figure of Shiera.

Shiera learnt and evolved astoundingly well, mastering the acts of sneaking and stealing from nearby pockets. However, at the age of fifteen, the leadership of the group changed, it now belonging to a man who cared less for the wellbeing of everyone as individuals. He taught Shiera how to use her "womanly charms" to rob, something Shiera disliked for she found it uncomfortable, even though it beared good results. Nevertheless, as the years passed on, she adapted to this as well, even mastering it. But things didn't go better, as the leader became more and more cruel with the group. And so, at the age of nineteen, Shiera decided to flee the group and the city alltogether, going to a more "human-only" place: Vel Anir.
