Living with an instinct to protect the world, Zorrens are often seen as the elves' more violent canine cousins, fighting tooth and claw to further their code of Life Freedom and Unity.

Appearance

Appearing usually as fox tailed elves, their pointed ears often get them mistaken for elves when they hide their tails, though a discerning eye will note that their ears are just a tad too small, their nails too long and sharp, and their smiles bare sharp canine fangs.

Habitat

Zorrens feel more at home in the wild woods of the world, but have been known to adapt to any environment, particularly those of an urban nature.

Traits

The Three Body Types

Generally sporting Lupine tails, the Endomorphic Wolf Born Zorrens are made for strength, their dense muscular making them quite heavy, and also quite strong. They are less agile than their brethren, but tend to be dangerous combatants due to their brute force. These Zorrens often credit the Vitae Lord Wulren for their Creation.

Usually seen with Vulpine tails, the Ectomorphic Fox Born Zorrens are lithe and agile. While their muscles share the same density as their wolfborn brothers, a fox born Zorren uses this strength to increase their agility and speed, often becoming acrobatic fighters and nimble climbers. Fox Born Zorrens, being light on their feet, often make for great scouts. These Zorrens often credit the Vitae Lord Varos for their Creation.

With the most diverse of caine shades, the mesomorphic Coyote Born Zorrens strike a balance between their brothers. With a mix of agility and strength, the coyoteborn hold no major advantages or disadvantages over the fox and wolf born Zorrens. They often credit their creation to the Vitae Lord Rerreno.

Of course, being all of one species, there is nothing stopping Zorrens of any basic body type from breeding with another. This has led to a melting pot of body types that vary between all three, and can cause fox tailed brutes with the bodies of a wolf born and the tail of a fox born.

The Eyes
All Zorrens have eyes of varying shades of gold. These eyes have been known to glow when a zorren taps into their innate fey magic.

Vocal Chords
Zorrens are graced with vocal chords which are capable of loud howling communications over long distances

Claws
Zorrens are proud of their sharp claws which are often used for climbing trees in their forested homes, or fighting off dangers when their magic or weapons fail them.

Running Joints
Used for traveling long distances, Zorrens posses a special hinge in their knees that allow them to lock into a backwards position. This allows greater mobility that they use to run on all fours, adding speed and reducing fatigue on the rest of their body as they travel.

Fangs
While omnivorous, Zorrens hold a heavy preference for meat, something show in their long canine fangs. Sometimes mistaken for vampires, these fangs hold little purpose beyond helping them tear into a thick cut of steak… or the occasional enemy who gets too close.

Pointed Ears
Zorren ears end in a sharp point similar to elves, though they aren’t much longer than a human’s. These ears however, possess the capability of moving independently much like an animal’s, allowing Zorrens to direct their hearing without moving their heads.

Fey Magic
Created by and bonded to the lords of the Vitae Court, Zorrens innately possess some amount of fey magic from birth. This magic waxes and wanes with their service to the community and the fae lords. Those who serve the most often attain power enough to stand up against even powerful fae. Those that reject their home and leave however, may find their magic dwindling into nothing. In essence, all Zorrens born in their homeland are, in some effect, Warlocks.

The Instinct
Finally, a part of the Zorrens as integral as their claws and tails but never seen by the naked eye is their most basic instinct. Zorrens are born to protect others, acting as a guard dog for the world. War runs through their veins, and yet they never fight for blood without a cause. Valued for their innate moral compass, a Zorren can always be depended on to jump into the fray for those they call friends. To fight and break this instinct is to invite a fate worse than death... to be broken into feral insanity.

Lore

An ancient species who claim to be almost as old as Elves, Zorrens say they were born of a liaison between their primary god and a spirit of the shadows and the night. Made to protect the world from evil, Zorrens have upheld their sworn duty with few exceptions, taking part in whatever wars they could find to support a just cause.

History

An ancient species who claim to be almost as old as Elves, Zorrens say they were born of a liaison between their primary god and the moon. This legend is not far from the truth as they were created by powerful magic by the Fae Lords Varos, Wulren, and Rerreno. These fae then bonded themselves with the Zorrens to increase their own power as Tuathan fae. This connection created a sort of link, allowing All zorrens to access some level of magic from their fae lords while empowering the Lords by ensuring a bond of belief which powers their kind. Made to protect the world from evil, Zorrens have upheld their sworn duty with few exceptions, taking part in whatever wars they could find to support a just cause.
