ONLY THE WORTHY BURN

Court of the Sun

The Sun Court is a militant splinter-court that is sworn to the Day Court. It is both the Day's shield and its blade. It is feared, revered, and ruthless. Where the Day Court rules through illusion and deception, the Sun Court exists for its strength, conquest, and divine wrath.

Leadership and Structure

Despite sworn allegiance to the Day Court, the Sun Court is permitted to operate on its own, and is ruled by a male High Solar Sovereign, who is believed to be the Sun's chosen leader. The current High Solar Sovereign is Solarion the Sunborn. Succession here is not determined by blood alone, but by overwhelming strength. Weakness is quietly erased from existence.

The Solar Conclave:
Beneath the High Solar Sovereign is a council of the strongest surviving generals, battlemagi, and solar priests. Membership is earned through victory, execution, and survival.

The Solar Host:
The Sun Court's true spine, their military. It is divided into:
The Dawnguard, the frontline of their military. The Sunwardens, the elite personal guard for the Sovereign and the Solar Conclave. The Ashbound, who were survivors- half burned and expendable. The Heliarchs, the solar battlemages.

The Radiant Clerisy:
The solar priests and priestesses who interpret the Sun's will. This group tests infants for magic blessing, conduct fiery executions, declare omens, and decide which lives are worth burning for the greater good. Their authority rivals the military, but never exceeds.

Intent

The Purpose of the Sun Court- Ascension through fire.
The court exists for one sacred reason- to embody the will of the Sun as judgment, strength and survival. The Sun Court believes existence itself is a crucible. The sun does not nurture indiscriminately, it burns away weakness so that only the strong remain. For them, mercy is stagnation, compassion is diseased, weakness invites darkness. The Sun Court is the necessary violence of daylight. They are not only conquerors of glory, but also the executioners of inevitability.

Methods of Punishment

2. Branding
3. Exile

Prisons are a rarity in the Sun Court as the Court prefers to not preserve what has so clearly failed.

Family, Birth and Childhood
Every newborn undergoes testing with a member of the Radiant Clerisy, observation for magical response to sunlight and flame. Failure means immediate execution. Parents are expected to witness without showing grief. Weeping is dishonorable.
Parental bonds are discouraged in childhood for loyalty belongs to the Sun, not blood. At adolescence, children undergo the Trial of the Ember. Survivors earn adulthood and failures are erased from records.
